Rollers of The Realm Slated for PS4, Vita and PC

Ok, it looks like Atlus has revealed their unannounced game. A role playing pinball game? That sounds like a fascinating combination, but I shouldn’t be surprised such a title could come out of the indie scene.

I think I’m starting to like the modern day Atlus, who not only publishes Japanese games, but indie games as well. Daylight may not have been as good as Outlast, but I appreciate the creativity that went into it, even if it just ended up being more frustrating than scary. Indie games have a lot of potential to shine, but not every indie dev is able to publish their own games. That’s where studios like Atlus come in.

Ok, part of me is a little disappointed that we aren’t getting another quirky Japanese game, but a good indie game is welcome too. The only thing is, I’m not particularly good at pinball. The role playing elements intrigue me, more than anything else though. I’m not opposed to trying something of this nature. It certainly sounds creative. Rollers of the Realm is set to release this holiday season.

What are your thoughts on Phantom Compass’s upcoming title? Are you intrigued by the concept, or do you wish Atlus had invested in another title instead? Leave your comments below.

A pinball rpg is a strange combo, that’s for sure, but I like unusual games. Interesting that there’s an NES game kind of like it. It’s still an interesting concept though, even if it has been done at least once before, in the past.

Pinball? RPG?

Sly dogs are digging deep in the NES well…

To be fair,Pinball Questwas pretty damn amazing. The “stealing merchandise from vendors” mechanic revolutionized the industry.

This is actually rather interesting! I remember very much enjoying the RPG puzzle gamePuzzleQuest, it was great for that puzzle itch we get now and then and the ability to customize your skills was neat.

Looking forward to how this pans out!
