Howdy Fextralifers! Welcome to another week in RPG news. If you’ve been too busy to keep up on the lastest and greatest, no worries, we’ve got your back. Let’s jump right into the good stuff, Dark Souls Remastered!

Also announced was the pricey Dark Souls Trilogy which clocks in at a hefty 500$ USD and includes all threeDark Soulsgames and their DLCs: Dark Souls Remaster, Dark Souls 2: Scholar of the First Sin and Dark Souls 3: The Fire Fades Edition. Also added are CD soundtracks for each game.

Further included are book ends with an Elite Knight and a Bonfire, Dark Souls Trilogy “Item Encyclopedia”, listing all items found in all games, Dark Souls Trilogy “Memorial Art Set” featuring iconic scenes and characters from all the games, and a unique Bust Figure. Currently the Trilogy is only available for the Japan region, but we’ll keep you updated if a European or Western release is announced. Over the past week, Capcom made some awesome announcements, with the most important one being that there will be a third Beta round ofMonster Hunter: World,that’s just weeks away from release. This upcoming Beta will be the final session and will be set a week prior to the game’s official launch in order to do some last minute stress test on its online servers. Unfortunately once again, the Beta will be a PlayStation 4 exclusive, and as with the previous Beta, a PlayStation Plus membership will not be required.

Since it’s the conclusive Beta round, Capcom has decided to kick things up a notch, which should interest previous participants to go trek into the Wildspire Waste once more. This time around, a fourth quest will be added that’ll see players do battle with one ofMonster Hunter: World’sfearsome large monsters:Nergigante. This will be the most challenging mission of the Beta, testing the mettle of even veteran hunters.

Furthermore, Capcom has shared more details on its free post-launch content by revealing the first DLC, in the form of a new but terrifying monster and it is described as “one that must continually devour”. Also, the Elder Dragons will be making a comeback; as showcased in a brand-new trailer that you can check out, along with the Beta’s date and region times, and the free DLC, all on theblog.

It has been ages since we last heard anything onCyberpunk 2077,studio CD Projekt RED’s highly-anticipated sci-fi RPG. And the last time we did hear about it, were either from rumors, leaks, incidents, and such, but nothing official from the developers themselves. However, things have changed when a simple Tweet from the game’s official Twitter let out a sign of life, finally breaking the silence.

The Tweet was simply a beep. An electronic tone? A swear? Either way, as simple as it is, it’s still great news that stirs up a hopes and emotions, as this could mean that we may soon get an announcement, an update of sorts from CD Projekt on this somewhat secretive RPG. This is certainly exciting and stay tuned as we’ll follow up on this once more word onCyberpunk 2077arises. We’ve said it a few times before and we’ll say it once again; Good things come to those who wait. And what we’re referring to is a leaked product listing for aFinal Fantasy XV: Royal Edition,for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles. Though nothing official has come out from Square Enix, we can presume it to be a Game of the Year or Complete Edition variant of the popular JRPG, and may house all previously released DLCs including the character “Episodes”, as well as the various updates containing game changing enhancements, and more. Varric Tethras is a well-known name among those who have had a delight to play eitherDragon Age 2orDragon Age: Inquisition.This dwarf is a favorite personality amongst players of the franchise due to his charm as a quick-witted and humorous NPC companion in the series. Another thing Varric is famous for, is being the author of his best-selling book, “Hard in Hightown”, which is a novel that’s quite popular among the game’s populace, and excerpts of it can be found strewn throughoutInquisitionas collectibles.

With its release just next month, Bandai Namco Entertainment has shared the details on the pre-order bonuses players in the West can expect for the upcoming JRPG shooter,Sword Art Online: Fatal Bullet;and it shares some similarities with the Japanese version of the title. The new info builds upon the previously revealed Western Collector’s Editions ofFatal Bulletand console gamers will see various sets for specific editions and formats of the game.

Of these includes the original SAO anime costumes for Kirito and Asuna; and special weapons such as a Gold Assault Rifle, colored Photon Swords, and a badass Guitar Launcher which can allow us to play out our Antonio Bandaeras power fantasies, among many others. Also, Bandai has released another new trailer forFatal Bullet,and this could be the best one yet, as i’ts set to a track from popular Japanese artist, LiSA. After a valiant and grueling re-localization effort, the much-awaited PC version of the latest Ys action-RPG, Lacrimosa of Dana,  has finally be given a new concrete release date. Coming sometime this January, the upcoming Steam launch was made possible by the team NIS America put together in order to correct the various translation errors found inDana’sinitial English release on the PlayStation 4 and Vita, which prompted the company to issue an apology over the quality, thus holding back the PC release.

With more and more Switch consoles being sold, and in turn breaking records, the latest Nintendo system is also seeing more games in its library. The latest addition to that lineup would be the brutal and gloomy RPG,Darkest Dungeonfrom Red Hook Studios. Switch owners will get a taste of some great dungeon-crawling gameplay, and it will be something that’ll happen very soon as the Switch version ofDarkest Dungeonwill become available in a just week through the Nintendo eShop.

Also, the title’s “The Crimson Court” and “The Shieldbreaker” add-ons will also be downloadable from the online storefront, but as separate purchases from the base game. And on the topic of DLCs, the studio has also mentioned that they’ll share the release details on their upcoming “The Color of Madness” expansion at a later time. And now we come to our final piece of news. Brought to you by developers Yummyyummytummy and Mintsphere, the 2D action-RPG,Fallen Legion+,is now available for purchase on Steam. At a glance,Fallen Legionis reminiscent of Vanillaware’sDragon’s Crownin both its art direction and gameplay. But once you get your hands on it, you’ll find that it’s a completely different beast.

This 2D action-RPG has a seemingly simple, but ultimately complex battle system, where players can string together a variety of combos to undo their foes. These combos are formed from your party members, whom each one represents a specific attack type. And apart from combat, players will be faced with consequential choices that has direct influences on the story.

Fallen Legionwas initially released in mid of last year as two separate games:Sins of an Empireon PS4, andFlames of Rebellionfor PS4 and PS Vita. Each title featured its own set of characters from opposing sides of a conflict, andFallen Legion+for PC combines them both in a single release for your enjoyment.
