Rumour: Final Fantasy XVI Demo Seen Listed on Playstation Store
Netizens report that a Final Fantasy XVI demo has popped up on the PlayStation Store in a recent Reddit thread.
Ahead of Final Fantasy XVI’s launch this month, posters on Reddit have reported to be seeing a demo listing for the game. Screenshots of the demo being in their game library have also added an odd twist.
The thread shows FF fans explaining some have pre-ordered the digital version of the game and now can see a demo listing. It is not confirmed whether this is region based. Or whether it is a glitch that pre-orderers can now see this listing.
Some theorise that this Final Fantasy XVI demo is supposed to coincide with Summer Game Fest. Since the demo recently went up on June 1st. Maybe a hasty error of putting a “1” instead of an “11” was made, meaning it appeared earlier than planned. In the past Square Enix confirmed they would be releasing a demo at some point before launch.
This could mean a Final Fantasy XVI demo is just around the corner. As we teeter on the brink ofSummer Game Fest. But stranger still is why it’s only those who pre-order who can see the demo. It would make more sense for the demo to be available for all. As this could help to convince those who maybe are still on the fence, to take the plunge. Posters in the thread have shared screenshots of the PS app. Some claim they can see it in regions such as Australia, Germany and Ukraine. While others who have pre-ordered say it has not appeared for them.
As the source is Reddit, a healthy dose of salt should be taken with this. With major gaming month about to kick off there are bound to be a lot of buzz andrumours. Either way, this is rather mysterious, maybe all will become clear during Summer Game Fest on June 11th.
