Rumour: New Sci-fi RPG IP from Playstation Leaked
An image from a new Playstation sci-fi IP has been leaked online according to recent social media posts.
A leaked image has cropped up online which supposedly is a screenshot from leaked footage of a brand new Playstation IP. The author who posted the image and details online described the game as a “sci-fi RPG” which is currently in development usingUnreal Engine 5. The image shown is of a character pointing a gun at some otherworldly enemy in third person. The image also shows the early stages of development, as apparently, this is of an “early build”. Other details included Xdev being partnered with another studio who are currently working on the project.
The leak came from a short gameplay trailer that featured a five-second snippet of the game posted on the icon-era website. Confirmation if this is a new IP for Sony is not confirmed, so take this with a grain of salt. If the footage is real, it looks like the game is quite a few years away from launch as the rendering is very rough. The screenshot has since been shared on twitter following the pre-announcement of the leak.
Apparently this new IP is a sci-fi RPG developed in Unreal Engine 5. Xdev partnered with another studio. There is a screenshot and 5 seconds of footage. It looks rough so I’m assuming it’s an early prototype build of some kind.pic.twitter.com/6NEUu7E6Fb
While the game may be in its early stages, from the limited footage shown it looks like a mix ofMass Effectmeets Cthulu. The massive enemy could be a boss, would be interesting if you could team up to take this massive alien-like creature down. Other snippets of details leaked online share there is more footage floating around, and that the game is fully voiced with a soundtrack. Again before you get excited about a sci-fi Sony-exclusive IP, nothing concrete has been presented and is all speculation at this point.
