Salt and Sanctuary Release Date Revealed

Praise the 2D Sun! The much anticipatedSalt and Sanctuaryfrom Ska Studios will release March 15th on PS4! The PC version is due to release sometime this summer with the Vita version also in development for a future release. The game will drop on thePlaystation Storefor the super reasonable price of 17.99 USD, with pre-orders receiving a 10% discount, bringing the price down to 16.19 USD.  It will also be crossbuy, so PS4 owners can play the Vita version as soon as it releases! This 2D conceptualization of the Soulslike genre is the perfect thing for fans of the Soulsborne games to sink their teeth into, especially while they wait forDark Souls 3!

A doomed sailor is shipwrecked on an uncharted island. In fog-shrouded valleys, where grinning, mossy corpses cling to rusted arms, shambling figures begin to stir. Beneath crumbling, salt-worn structures, labyrinthine passageways lead to unspeakable evil, long forgotten by man.

The 2D hardcore action RPG features over 600 unique items and will be immediately appealing to players who love extensive character building, deep, stylized combat, rewarding exploration and challenging enemies as well as some awesome hand drawn artwork and environments. Initially developed as a single player experience, the game will now featurelocal Co-op and PvPfor you and your favorite couch partner/adversary. Check out our livestream from last night with Ska Studios to get an idea of the goodness to expect:

Editor at Fextralife. I look for the substantial in gaming and I try to connect video games to the emotions and stories they elicit. I love all things culture and history and have an odd fondness for the planet Jupiter. I think my dogs are pretty awesome too.

Since Bloodborne there has been no release that interested me and now there are 3 in the same month… this is so unfair!;(

Well I think I’m gonna preorder this. Watched the stream yesterday, and it looks quite nice.

Sorry, I just edited my post. I meant to say “Plat.” I only need the spell collection trophies but I’m not quite finished with a first run (still need to beat Dark Lurker and retrieve spells from two DLC areas).

To hell with that. I’m going to play Salt and Sanctuary right away. It’s my DKS3 anticipation buster and potential insurance policy.

Me too. I’m renting it off gamefly now, should be at my house in a few days.

I was planning on trying to Plat SotFS before DSIII releases. Looks like my timetable just shifted a little.

sweet. Do they offer demos? I like demos.
