Sea of Stars Award-Winning Best Indie Title Surpasses 4 Million Players
In case you missed it, Sea of Stars was a Kickstarted pixel-graphic RPG with turn-based combat that launched this year on August 29th. It’sinspired by classic turn-based RPGsbut brings its own exploration twist with options to not only explore on foot but run, swim, climb or even jump.
The title does have a DLC planned which was a stretch goal of the Kickstarter campaign, called Throes of The Watchmaker. It will be a full-side adventure featuring the Watchmaker and a “clockwork conundrum”. So far no release date has been announced so it could be some time off. There’s also a possible further DLC being teased but no solid confirmation on that one yet.
Director of Sabotage Thierry Boulanger has touched upon apossible spinoff gamein the same universe as Sea of Stars, but maybe in a different genre. For now, they will focus on the first DLC. Further content is coming in the form of Single-Player+ which adds co-op elements.
Sea of Starsis currently available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. If you have yet to try out the game there is currently a demo on Steam.
