Sea of Stars is Coming to PS Plus Game Catalog on Launch Day
The turn-based RPG Sea of Stars is heading to Playstation Plus Game Catalog on day one of launch.
The turn-based title inspired by classic RPGs, Sea of Stars will be heading to PS Plus for both Playstation Extra and Playstation Premium come launch day. The game is set to release on August 29th. A demo is also now available on both Playstation 5 and Playstation 4.
Previously the retro-inspired pixel title was announced to be coming to Xbox Game Pass also as a day one title. It looks like both console platforms are welcoming to the successfully Kickstarted game by Sabotage Studio. The game has already beenannounced to be coming to the Playstation platform, but this will be another way to access the game come launch day.
A blog post announced the upcoming addition, along with details about the game’s overall “vision”. Sea of Stars moved away from the typical tile-based movement found in pixel-styled RPGs. Instead, providing a “more seamless” world according to the level designer Philippe Dionne.
A part of the appeal of the game is its mix of catchy tunes, engaging combat and providing a page-turner of a story. Not an easy task to pull off all three, but it looks like the studio is fairly confident in throwing its hat into the ring. The blog post also shared about the process that went into designing the world as well as how players will explore. A lot of thought has gone into how players will traverse the scenery, which is present in a side-scroller 2D-esque design.
In case you missed it, Sea of Stars is heavilyinspired by classic turn-based RPGs. From its pixel sprite artstyle, to its game systems. However, bringing a fresh take with an exploration system that will let players not only explore on foot, but run, swim, climb or even jump.
Sea of Starswill be coming to platforms PS5, Xbox Series, PS4, Xbox One, Switch and PC on August 29th. The demo is now available on all platforms.
