Shiren the Wanderer: The Mystery Dungeon of Serpentcoil Island Online Rescue Feature Detailed
New details have been released for the upcoming title Shiren the Wanderer: The Mystery Dungeon of Serpentcoil Island on its online features that let players go on rescue missions to save others.
New details of the online features for Shiren the Wanderer: The Mystery Dungeon of Serpentcoil Island have been revealed on the Japanese official website. Spike Chunsoft include some new info on what happens when your character runs out of HP. Let’s take a look!
According to the new details, if your character gets their HP down to zero they will be given up to 3 chances to have a Request Mission. If successful they can be brought back without losing any items or starting over. This means other players can opt-in to join a Rescue Mission either by using a Rescue ID or answering one of the missions on the Rescue board. These can be players from anywhere in the world. You don’t have to rely on online help to be rescued either, as there is also a Self Rescue feature that you can attempt to save yourself.
Once the rescuer enters the same dungeon, the room where the player has fallen will be transformed into a Monster House, full of enemies on the prowl. Only after killing all the monsters in the room can they rescue the player and complete the mission. All items and money the rescuer gains throughout the mission will be converted to bonus points that can be used to unlock equipable perks that can be used in further Rescue Missions. These can be such benefits as starting out with a higher character level, higher HP or even journeying on stomach fullness.
Also detailed was the Parallel Play feature. This allows players to create a Parallel ID at any point within the dungeon. This will create an exact copy of the current playthrough, including everything from dungeon structure to enemy positioning. Other players who access this Parallel ID will be able to experience the dungeon from the exact moment the ID was made.
These will create ways for players to challenge others with difficult dungeon runs or enter a time attack competition in Shiren the Wanderer: The Mystery Dungeon of Serpentcoil Island. It could also be a way to experience other streamer’s playthroughs. While it looks like anyone can join as long as they have the Parallel ID, it will only work on those using the same language settings. This feature is really interesting idea, and can finally put to rest whether you think you could do it better. Often recreating another player’s situation in games isn’t really an option, especially if you want to help friend out. But this means you can play the exact scenario and even see if you can get out of a tough situation.
Previously Spike Chunsoft unveiled details about the funSumo statusShiren can use to bolster his attacks and HP. Major monsters were also revealed called Behemoths that can be taken on through gates that appear in dungeons.
In case you missed it Shiren the Wanderer: The Mystery Dungeon of Serpentcoil Island will be a high-risk, high-reward kind of game. If you fail, you will lose all your gear and levels, essentially starting over your run at level 1. The game teases a “rise and rise again” approach, meaning battling and finally succeeding. The entry sets to put things “back to basics” and features turn-based combat.
