Sony Announces that PS4 Exclusive Horizon Zero Dawn Has Sold 3.4 Million Copies

Sony has revealed thatHorizon Zero Dawn, the open world Action RPG from Guerrilla Games has sold 3.4 million copies since launch earlier this year on the PS4.

The game hit over 2.5 million units in its first two weeks from when it launched at the end of February. Post launch it has continued some strong selling momentum and has become a smash first party success for the PS4. It merged open world, action focused gameplay and exploration with a strong storytelling narrative and landed it squarely in the pantheon of great Playstation games. As a result, the Killzone developer has solidified their stature in gaming and laid the potential foundation for a new mega franchise like fellow PS exclusive Uncharted. We were very impressed with the debut RPG from the Guerrilla and scored Horizon accordingly inour review, finding that it redefined the open world genre in a way that brought all of its various elements together in a strong package.

Editor at Fextralife. I look for the substantial in gaming and I try to connect video games to the emotions and stories they elicit. I love all things culture and history and have an odd fondness for the planet Jupiter. I think my dogs are pretty awesome too.

Makes sense, it’s a great game, solid in almost every major aspect (gameplay, story, graphics, etc.). Hope it encourages people to try for taking risks with making quality games, and not just dumping money into advertising and hype build up.
