Sony E3 Conference Recap: All the Announcements and Reveals

Sony E3 Conference Recap: All the Announcements and Reveals

Tonight, Sony held its annual E3 conference and as usual, it was quite the spectacle. We were live on location for all of the big reveals and if you’ve missed it, don’t worry as we have recapped everything that was revealed and announced.

The spinoff standalone featuring Chloe and Nadine received a brand new story trailer that showed the darker theme.

Zombie hunting at its finest and grittiest.

The beloved PS2 game is getting another makeover for the current gen as it will now be making its way to the PS4.

Shooty McShooterstuff

Another installment on the ever growing roster of superhero brawls

Who wants to buy Skyrim for the 6th time? You know you do!

This trailer is creepy as fuck and should scare the pants off of anyone in VR.

This quirky VR title puts players in the shoes of the fabulous foursome and expands upon the fishing mini game.

The sequel to Bungie’s mega franchise got a longer story look and some Playstationexclusive news  of a Strike, Exotic Weapon and PvP map for the PS4.

Spiderman is getting the Playstation treatment and it’s vibe is very Batman Arkham Asylum meets Infamous.

That’s a wrap from Sony’s press conference. Thoughts on the news? Let us know in the comments!

Emergence

Editor at Fextralife. I look for the substantial in gaming and I try to connect video games to the emotions and stories they elicit. I love all things culture and history and have an odd fondness for the planet Jupiter. I think my dogs are pretty awesome too.

i have an interest in vampyr but i won’t be holding my breath.

Virtual reality has come a long way since the ‘Lawnmower Man’ looking era, but I don’t see myself getting into it anytime soon.

I don’t know. I just don’t see myself putting on a full helmet to play a game. That is until BTLs (Better than Life) from Shadowrun become a reality. In which case, I’ll be a BTL junkie for sure.

None of the announcements really did much for me except the Xcom2 dlc.Monster Hunter is cool though. I’ve always wanted to try it out. So I’m sure I’ll get that one too.

The audio was the same for me, streaming at home. I thought I accidentally hit the mute button for a bit.

Lol, speaking of technical difficulties with Days Gone, the audio feed had some issues at the beginning of the theater experience. We couldn’t really hear anything from Uncharted. Days Gone was similarly quiet at the beginning…

By that time our crowd was having some fun with it and when the PC gets on the motorcycle I’d estimate half the audience made “Vroom” noises

As interesting and full of possibility VR is, it’s still out of range for a lot of people.

Plus all the games seem to be updated versions of older games, with a few new ones scattered in. I don’t feel a need to buy Skyrim or Fallout AGAIN just to play in VR.

Remastering Shadow of the Colossus is ok by me. It’s an older game that’s actually worth doing again.

God of War looks interesting, going in a different direction than the last games, but I’ll wait to pass judgement until I’ve seen actual gameplay.

A few of the videos had broken links for me, so I’ll have to see what’s up with that. Days Gone and Detroit were the two that I remember not working.

There’s some games I definitely wanna play with VR (Moss, GT and Inpatient all look really good) but that prompts the money debate again. Once I have enough for the headset, I then need to save more to get games. Basically it’s like owning two consoles which I haven’t had the resources for in a long while.

I have PSVR and never use it. This conference didn’t do much to make me think I will soon.

I liked a good many of the reveals, but this always is a good reminder for me how much money and time I don’t have for gaming.

Still saving up for PSVR (not being super successful at it either)

I was yelling at screen: oh, for F’s sake: Demon’s Souls for PS4 is the only remake I crave!

as much as I was craving for a FROM announcement, I must say that not having a new game from them this early is also kinda of reassuring on the level of dedication to quality they are showing for their next games.Spider man looks freaking dope too ^^
