Space Marine 2has already achieved impressive user numbers on Steam. The third-person shooter officially releases this Monday, but its more expensive editions allow players to start playing four days early.
This game is already shaping up to be the most successful title for Focus and Saber Interactive on Steam, and we are only talking about the early access version. However, not everything has gone perfectly.
The Emperor’s crusade is off to a good start, even though the official launch ofWarhammer 40,000 Space Marine 2has yet to happen. Those who pre-ordered the Gold or Ultra editions are already enjoying early access on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.
It’s been more than ten years since the firstSpace Marine, but players are still eager to slice through Tyranids, wreak havoc, and demonstrate the imperial might of their space marines.
The official launch will take place on Monday, September 9, and a new player peak is expected across all platforms. The initial early access numbers couldn’t be better.
This means thatSpace Marine IIis, to date, the game from Focus Entertainment and Saber Interactive with the highest player numbers at launch. We’ll see if it performs as well in terms of sales.
Unfortunately, not everything is perfect. Some players have reported technical issues, server disconnections, and other errors.
Space Marine 2maintains “very positive” reviews on Steam, but some players have complained about compatibility issues with ultra-wide screen support, bugs, and occasional server disconnections.
Users on X/Twitter report that the option to join a server doesn’t work properly, whether you try to join after selecting it or after completing a mission.
Focus Entertainment, the game’s publisher, has addressed the issues on Twitter/X. They promised to resolve these problems as soon as possible.
“We are aware of the technical issues that Space Marine 2 is experiencing and we apologize for the inconvenience. Our teams are currently working to fix them.”
For now, some of the most common issues include the first cinematic freezing, crashes, “infinite” loading screens, and problems with graphics drivers.
