S.T.A.L.K.E.R 2 Releases a Massive Patch for PC and Xbox Series
S.T.A.L.K.E.R 2has launched a major update for Xbox Series X/S and PC on Steam, weighing in at 13.68 GB. Released on November 20 with numerous bugs, the game is being improved through successive updates; patch version 1.0.1 addresses over 650 changes and bug fixes.
One of the most significant changes involves weapon durability: weapons will no longer degrade as quickly, and repairs will now cost less, allowing players to save more in-game currency. Speaking of currency, most missions now reward players with more funds, though stalkers still won’t find themselves flush with cash.
Another major gameplay adjustment concerns mutants, which are now slightly less intimidating on lower difficulty levels. Players on both Xbox Series and PC also experienced occasional imprecision when using controllers due to a dead zone calibration issue—this has been resolved in the update.
Overall, the patchbrings over 650 adjustmentsaffecting AI, optimization, sound, balance, combat, characters, cinematics, menus, interactive objects, quests (and their progression), the open-world experience, equipment, weapons, voice acting, facial animations, and the functionality and representation of the world.
GSC Game World remains committed to fixing and enhancing the game, which, despite its issues, has been well-received by players for offering a unique, intense, and challenging open-world experience. On Steam, it boasts nearly 47,000 “Very Positive” reviews, with fewer than 20% being negative.
