Star Wars Jedi Survivor Final Gameplay Trailer Ups the Ante to 11

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor just got its “final” gameplay trailer a few weeks before its April 28 release. The footage showed off tons of combat and story segments to keep fans excited.

No longer a young Padawan, protagonist Cal is finally a full-fledged Jedi Knight. Yet again is the galaxy’s fate plunged into his very capable hands. The Empire’s fist has a stranglehold all over the galaxy even five years after the original game. Cal has definitely changed in many ways, most notable of which is his new stylish facial hair.

The final trailer forStar Wars Jedi: Survivorwas just like a movie trailer. Full of high-action sequences and story cuts that make us just interested enough without giving too much away. So, what’s in store? Let’s jump right in!

Fans were treated to almost two full minutes of in-engine gameplay, narrated by Cere from the first game. She sounds almost proud of Cals, stating that he was merely a “child” when this all began. Now, Cals has matured and changed throughout the years. There will also be many choices, trials, and tribulations that will challenge the young Jedi Knight.

Most of the footage contained many spectacular fight segments and flashes of his friends and foes. One of the more noticeable additions from the first game is that Cals can now dismember his enemies. It looks like this will be reserved as a finishing move for his humanoid foes, however. Having limbs flying all over the place would disrupt game balance and just make the experience look quite silly.

Other scenes have Cals literally fling a Stormtrooper to his death by throwing him into the path of an incoming Tie Fighter. Cals can even force pull open an AT-ST and cleanly force pull the pilot inside. Guess what he does with this hapless human? Of course, he throws him away!

Bits of nostalgia was also thrown in for good measure. We get to see the return of the Rancor enemy from the demo, trying its best to make breakfast out of our hero. The ever-infamous rolling Droidekas from the prequel trilogy also make their return. Cals does make short work of them despite their hardy energy shields.

We saw from the Star Wars Jedi Survivor trailer that friends and companions also took up a lot of screen time. According to Asmussen, friendship has already been a significant theme of the franchise, even dating back to the first game. This time, though, it looks like there will be many special coordinated attacks between you and your allies.

Players can “call upon their friends in the heat of battle with a button tap”. We do know that the mercenary Bode Akuna and Nightsister Merrin are just two of the possible companions that we can request for aid while battling the forces of the Empire.

Lastly, Asmussen hopes that the title will “put a smile on the players’ faces”. Working with a legendary franchise is humbling, and he hopes that he and his team were able to create something befitting the Star Wars name.

In other news, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor also revealed its minimum and recommended system requirements. As expected, it will require users to have at least Windows 10 as well as 8GB of RAM. The minimum CPU requirements are also quite lenient at a 7th-gen Intel i7 or first-gen Ryzen 5.

However, the surprising requirement is the game’s storage space requirement. It will need a massive 155GB of space in order to install. For those unlucky enough to only own a 250 GB SSD, this will easily take up a lion’s share of your space. It will be high time to upgrade if that’s the case.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor releases in just over two weeks. It will be available on PC (via Steam and EA App), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. The previous gen consoles will not be able to continue Cal’s Jedi journey it seems.
