Star Wars Jedi Survivor Guide – 8 Tips & Tricks

Star Wars Jedi Survivor Guide – 8 Tips & Tricks– In this Star Wars Jedi Survivor Guide, I’ll be showing you 8 Tips & Tricks you should know before playing the game to get off to the best possible start. I’ll be keeping spoilers to an absolute minimum and I won’t be discussing the story of Jedi Survivor whatsoever. Let’s get started.

So the first thing I want to discuss in this Star Wars Jedi Survivor Guide is how this game is a Metroidvania of sorts, and how that affects your gameplay and decisions.

Jedi Survivor is a Metroidvania game, meaning that although you have seemingly endless access to the open world spaces on each planet, you will need to come back to locations you’ve already visited again and again to acquire everything that each planet has to offer.

As you progress the main story of the game you will unlock more and more of these tools, and some are even found from randomly exploring areas after you’ve progressed the main story. Generally though, the rule is that if you cannot figure out how to interact with something for more than about 5-10 minutes then odds are you simply don’t have the required “tool” for the job yet and you’ll need to come back later once you do.

Don’t spend hours trying to figure a puzzle out or searching online, simply continue the main story or go somewhere else and come back later. It will be quite clear once you have the “tool” needed and you will realize it immediately upon acquisition. If there was only one tip I could give you in this Star Wars Jedi Survivor Guide, this would be it!

Meditation Points can be found all over the various planets of Star Wars Jedi Survivor, and it’s important that you at least activate them, even if you don’t use them to Rest (which respawns enemies). This is due to the Metroidvania nature of the game, which I just mentioned.

You will inevitably find yourself going back to places you have been 2 or 3 times already, and the fastest way to do that is via the Fast Travel feature located inside Meditation Points. You can only Fast Travel from these Meditation Sites to other Meditation Sites so having every possible one unlocked is vital to save you valuable time. Planets are HUGE and you don’t want to run the whole way back and forth or you will burn out!

The next point we’ll cover in this Jedi Survivor Guide is simply that there are no Weapon or Armor upgrades in Star Wars Jedi Survivor, so it might seem like Cal doesn’t get that much stronger, but in this section I want to tell you how to improve him easily.

Look for HP and Force upgrades as you explore the map. Usually, you will find these in hidden places that require thorough exploration, or after fighting Bosses. If you feel weak, go and search for these before facing a tough enemy to help make you stronger.

Additionally, you can farm Skill Points from enemies if you really need it allowing you to place points into much needed Skills that will make you have more available moves or passive upgrades that can really help you out. So farm these as well if you need.

Another thing you can do is open the backdoor in Doma’s shop on Koboh with 10 Priorite Shards that will give you an extra heal early on. This will make you much stronger, so be sure to pick it up.

Try not to worry about Perk, since these aren’t as easy to get, but you can buy some from Zee once you rescue her, and she is located on Koboh in the top of the bar area.

And lastly, just progress the main story line. Cal will get more abilities as you progress that make him able to traverse the planets more easily, but also perform better in combat as well. So make sure to do this as well.

The reason I mention that optional bosses are hard in this Jedi Survivor Guide, is because if you haven’t progressed the main story much, which you likely won’t have if you like to thoroughly explore, you will inevitably come across 1 or 2 Legendary Bosses that you may get stuck on. We have Boss Guides for these on YouTube if you need help, but these Bosses are much harder than most bosses in the game, so don’t freak out if they are too hard when you first run into them. The whole game is not that challenging and you can always come back later after you’ve powered up your character a bit, and are a bit more familiar with the game.

As you progress the game you will likely have made some mistakes with your skill points and you can refund these at any time at a Meditation Site. The Respec is free, but from that point onward you will have to pay 1 Skill Point in order to Respec. Now Skill Points can be farmed, so there is no “finite” amount of them, but I’d advise that you not be too wasteful, particularly if you’re on the harder difficulties of the game.

Another good tip for this Jedi Survivor Guide is that the Survival and Force trees are great to take early on in the game if you’re not sure which Lightsaber stance you like and you don’t want to have to farm extra Skill Points. You will want these at some point anyway because they increase Cal’s HP and Force, as well as make his Force Abilities more effective, which is good for any Lightsaber Stance. If you’re not sure where to place points early, place them in these two Skill Trees.

The Confusion Force Ability is phenomenal all game long, and it can make things much easier for you, particularly on harder difficulties. A lot of the challenge of the game is when multiple enemies get thrown at you, and the easiest way to turn the tables is by converting 1 or 2 enemies to fight for, evening the odds.

Make sure you upgrade this to affect more resistant enemies, as these are the best to convert as they stay alive longer and kill other enemies more easily. This can really make things easier.

The Blaster Stance and Cross-Guard Stance are acquired by progressing the main storyline and aren’t found too far into the game, though it may be awhile before you get them if you explore everything you come across before advancing the plot. However, these Stances are by far the best in the game, and you should look to use one of them once you get them. This is probably the second most important tip for this Jedi Survivor Guide!

Blaster Stance is my personal favorite as it allows you to pick off enemies at range, and keep up pressure on their guard, even after you’ve had to dodge away. It can also help you thin out enemies even before the fight has begun. You can also upgrade its bullets as well as get a Perk to further boost its damage (Marksmanship).
