Ubisoft Massiveconfirmed on Twitter/X thatStar Wars Outlawshas gone gold, meaning the game’s development is complete. Additionally, they have the master copy of the game in their hands.

This is great news, considering there are still almost two months (the title releases on August 30) until it arrives in stores. Fans are crossing their fingers for Star Wars Outlaws to have a smooth launch without errors or optimization issues.

This is the premise of the new open-world game fromUbisoft Massive, creators of The Division 2 and Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora. The adventure puts us in the shoes of Kay Vess, a young smuggler traveling across the galaxy with her pet Nix.Star Wars Outlawsis set between Episodes V and VI of the saga, in the original trilogy.

Uncharted might not have been the primary inspiration forUbisoft Massive, but they acknowledge that there are elements of the Nathan Drake series in their title. Additionally, they have applied mechanics seen in games like Starfield, albeit in a different manner.

The game’s creators granted several interviews through which we can learn new details about the title, such as that it will adopt one of the most popular features of Rockstar’s belovedGrand Theft Auto series.

In each place we travel to, besides encountering cities, characters, and all kinds of fauna and flora, there will also be Imperial outposts ensuring that the law prevails in every location.

In fact, if we commit any crime or misdeed, we will face a criminal alert system very much like GTA’s, which will alert the Imperial authorities who may start chasing us and putting us in serious trouble.

“Think of the police inGrand Theft Auto,” says Julian Gerighty, the game’s creative director, in an interview with Entertainment Weekly. “If they start seeing you commit crimes, it will trigger them to start chasing you. If you also eliminate some of them, things will get even more complicated, and at the maximum level, they will send death troopers or perhaps even worse things.”

We remind you thatStar Wars Outlawshas three different editions, and two of them (Gold Edition and Ultimate Edition) include a three-day early access. Soon you will be able to play it, asStar Wars Outlawsreflects the life of a rogue, a neutral character making a living in an Empire-governed galaxy.
