As we indicated at the beginning, Ubisoft has released a new trailer forStar Wars Outlaws. Although we had already had a first look at the gameplay, more details about the story behind this proposal were missing. Thus, the trailer released today allows us to delve into the life of Kay Vess, an outlaw who is taking her first steps in the underworld and seeking her freedom in the dangerous Outer Rim.
We already knew that Star Wars Outlaws would be set in a very attractive point in the cinematic timeline of Star Wars. Specifically, between The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. The trailer exposes how criminal syndicates seek to take advantage of the fact that the Empire is “distracted” fighting the Rebel Alliance to become richer.
Kay Vess will have to steal the fortune of the Zerek Besh criminal family to buy her freedom. But it won’t be easy, as the young woman betrayed Sliro, the boss of that mafia clan, and her head now has a price on it. The new trailer for the game doesn’t skimp on references to Star Wars characters, ships, and scenarios, featuring Jabba the Hutt, Han Solo frozen in carbonite, and a Star Destroyer, among others.
Star Wars Outlaws is the first major game in the franchise that has not been developed by any of the studios belonging to Electronic Arts. The release will be a crucial test for Ubisoft and Massive Entertainment, who will have to prove that they are up to the task.
