Starfield Devs' Plans for 2024 Include New Gameplay Options, Updates Every 6 Weeks & More

Dec. 21, 2023

In a message addressing Constellation members also revealed some interesting stats. Collectively players have now explored 2 billion planets in Starfield. Space adventurers have spent a whopping 22,284,441 days in the game with an average of 40 hours of playtime per player. That’s not a bad average and quite considerable if you look at the amount of hours offered in most games these days.

They plan on having updates every 6 weeks, with the first coming in February next year. There’s also news of new Gameplay options, with new settings letting players adjust the gameplay depending on preferred difficulty. You can make it more challenging or easier in the “difficulty” settings. These will be adjustable options such as customising carry capacity or even “new survival mechanics”.

First, we’re targeting updates roughly every six weeks starting in February. These updates will include everything from quality-of-life improvements to content and feature updates. Join our Steam Beta branch to be the first to try these updates as they begin rolling out.

Also coming in the new year is official mod support through Bethesda’s official Creations system plus the upcoming expansion Shattered Space.
