Starfield Will Receive 60 FPS Update
Bethesdaconfirms everything we can expect from the arrival of the next update forStarfield, which will be available starting May 15th as confirmed by Studio. Among the new features that the patch brings, the main focus is on the new graphics modes forXbox Series X.
The Performance Mode allows reaching60 FPS, in addition to an adaptable mode for users who use a display with variable refresh rate VRR technology that offers the option of 40 FPS.
On the other hand, as Howard had already hinted at, much of Bethesda’s attention has been focused on the maps. After listening to community suggestions, the team has decided to implement “major improvements” in the form of more detailed representations of the places we wish to consult. As if this were not enough, the developer’s official notes also mention “new gameplay options” to change the difficulty of the overall experience.
Last but not least, the May patch implements a new decoration mode for the interior of the ships; something similar to what has already been seen with the outposts. All of this is complemented by new configuration options for all platforms, a good handful of bug fixes, and, as is customary in this type of patch, improvements related to game performance and stability. A myriad of surprises that will undoubtedly make more than one user opt to (re)discover theRPGin the coming days.
We’ve heard from many that you’d like to have more control over the graphic fidelity and performance on Xbox, similar to how PC players can customize their experience. We’re now enabling that on Xbox Series X with a few options that you can use to find the best fit for your playstyle and display.
For each of these, we highly recommend a Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) Display running at 120hz, and to verify your Xbox is setup to use it. If you have it setup this way, Starfield will now default to a frame rate target of 40, while keeping the priority for full visuals.
