Steam Adds Game Trials First One Being Dead Space
Steam has added free 90 minute game trials, introducing the first one for Dead Space.
Valve has added game trials to the Steam platform. These differ from usual demos as they give players 90 minutes to experience the game before they need to purchase. These time-limited trials mean players can progress as much as the time limit lets them. While demos usually give a small area or a number of levels to try.
The first game being introduced for these 90-minute trials is the horror space survival game Dead Space. The remake was released early this year in January. It enhances the original Dead Space experience but now with modern graphics for a much gorier and creepier time. Audio for the game is much more fear-inducing as even small details such as Isaac’s breathing amps up the crucial moments in the game. The title is done in “one sequential shot” meaning loadings screen are minimal and the terror is at its max.
In case you missed it, Dead Space follows an engineer who is sent aboard the Ishimura, Isaac Clarke flies with a small crew to fix the ship after receiving a distress signal. Once reaching the starship however things don’t quite go to plan, because the ship is now infested with a slew of zombie humans. With plenty of ways to get the job done including the iconic plasma cutter to take on incombat.
If you like what you see in the hour and a half you experience, you can purchase the game on Steam after the trial with up 20% off at $47.99 USD. Simply visit the Steam store page and try out the free trial.
