We’re going to divide the list into “new” and “older” titles, so you can adjust based on whether you’re wanting to get something on a deep discount from the backlog, or a newer release for a better price!
This list contains older titles that have deep discounts and are really worth a play. We will assume that if you frequent Fextralife, you’ve bought FromSoftware’s games already, but in case you haven’t:Dark Souls 3andSekiroare both on sale for 29.99 USD right now.
This bundled deal includes the base game and the expansion, Bitterblack Isle, which adds a dungeon crawler full of loot and high level monsters to the already huge game. I spent over 100 hours completing the base game alone and hunting for materials, so you can expect amazing bang for your buck with this discount.
DOS 2is on sale for 60% off, or USD 17, which is an amazing price for a game that can be credited with bringing turn-based back into the mainstream. With full4 player cooperative playand split screen modes, plus a dungeon master mode where you can create your own digital tabletop, this is a must-have for anyone who enjoyedBG3.
Divinity Original Sin 2 features a great campaign with interestingquestlinesand intriguingNPCs, but it’s the build variety that I fell in love with, and I made over30 unique buildsthat you can check out on the channel and get a sense of how amazing and fun the combat is. It’s one of my favorite games of all time, so if you haven’t played it yet, this is a great time to pick it up cheap!
Mass Effect Legendary Edition has a steam rating of 91% thanks to the game’s fantastic story-driven gameplay. With a complex and engaging narrative and funbuild roleplay, the series remains unchallenged by any other title in the delivery of a truly immersive RPG experience. And of course, the remake features little upgrades, such as a unifiedcharacter creatorthat lets you progress seamlessly through all three games, that make it all the more worth it.
The latest large-scale releases of Monster Hunter are also on sale, you can get them for as little as 15 USD, or get each title and its expansion for 29.99. Considering the incredible amount of content that comes with the titles and their massive success, this is a very good deal.
Monster Hunter Worldis the oldest of the two and but features superior graphics as it was developed for more powerful systems thanMonster Hunter Rise, originally only launched on Nintendo Switch. Both titles are incredibly addictive, withdeep combat mechanicsand amazingcustomization optionsthat will make you get lost in a world of hunts, materialsandequipment upgrades.
The expansions for the titles feature hardermonsters, new areas and systems that add to the overall experience, as well as allow you to progress through the base game faster and join the endgame multiplayer hubs that are still incredibly active to this day.
TheAssassin’s Creed“open world” series is on sale, and if you enjoy exploration and discovery this is one you must not miss. Origins takes you to Egypt for 9.99,Odysseywill tour you through all of Greece for 11.99 andValhallawill let you experience the Dane occupation of Britain for 14.99.
These titles feature a truly incredible amount of content with magnificent vistas and fun, casual gameplay. If you enjoy open world games for their exploration and adventure, these are very rewarding titles that scratch that “relaxation time” itch without giving you combat headaches. I actually have completed and platinumed all three of them and fully enjoyed each experience as its own little guided tour of beautiful landscapes. Odyssey is my favorite, particularly the DLCs for the game as you can explore mythical realms.
If you are looking for something relaxing to do during the winter, these three titles should be on your list.
Now we will go through titles that have been released this year that we have really enjoyed playing. Most of these are either going on sale for the first time or have reached their historically low prices. So without further ado, let us start!
Lies of P is currently on a 20% sale if you plan on buying the base game or the Deluxe Edition, which also consists of a signature coat, glasses, and unique mask. You can purchase this for US$ 47.99. The Soulslike game is a dark retelling of the classic tale of Pinnochio whereas P, you strive to turn into a human being and defy all odds to do so.
Combat is nearly interactive in the sense that you have to remain aggressive most of the time to destroy your enemies. Defense-wise, parrying should be something to master to survive. There is also dodging but its effectiveness lies in managing your carry weight. Otherwise, it will feel sluggish to evade enemy attacks and you may even die as a result. On the other hand, weapon swapping does not feel as smooth plus the type of weapon you are wielding factors into your total weight so you need to be wary.

Next up in the Steam Autumn Sale is the highly anticipated open-world RPG of Bethesda which is none other than Starfield. Like Lies of P, Starfield is on a discount of 20% meaning, you can purchase it for US$ 55.99. The game has been almost a decade in the making and similar to other Bethesda titles, this one truly delivers. From the memorable factions with their backgrounds and decisions to the recruitable companions, some of whom will remain loyal.
In terms of the gameplay, character creation alone will have players spend several hours just by choosing one skill over the next. The cool thing about this feature is you will need to finish ‘bounties’ to gain points to level them up. This can be done by completing quests and exploring the vast galaxy of Starfield.
And then, we have combat. Combat in Starfield is fast-paced and polished. It provides you with several options to tackle enemies head-on with melee-based weapons such as swords or shoot them from a safe distance using laser pistols. Although ship encounters could use some tweaking, this is something that creates a sense of grandeur within the massive world of the game.
If you have been a fan of space and Bethesda games, thenStarfieldis a steal this time around.
Remnant 2 is the sequel to the fan-favorite Remnant: From the Ashes. It is a third-person shooter that maintains its highly engaging and exhilarating, fast-paced action style from the previous game. In the Steam Autumn Sale, Remnant 2 is on a 30% discount and is priced at US$ 34.99. This is a steal considering how fun it is!
Like its predecessor, the shooter’s strength does not come from story progression but rather from its exciting gameplay and combat. Gunfire Games have outdone themselves in crafting a memorable Soulslike that fans will play over and over again. Every experience is unique since the world is randomly generated. This means that dungeon layouts and enemies can potentially be harder when you boot the same instance the second time.
What adds to this intensity is the combat because of how fluid your character moves with every shot they make. Enemies are equally challenging and their corresponding designs are much improved this time around. And finally, you have class customizations. Here, you gain access to more archetypes the further you progress in Remnant 2, meaning, multiclassing is also an option.
So if you enjoy testing out several builds and playing with friends, then you will not go wrong with this Soulslike title! Check out ourRemnant 2 DLC ReviewandRemnant 2 Wikifor more on the game.
Lords of the Fallen is a worthy successor to the title of the same name. The game maintains a Dark Fantasy theme all throughout with story beats that are not only intriguing but also exciting to piece together. This ties well into its level design, which is commendable due to the sheer size and scale of the world players can explore. There are always alternatives and secret paths to discover and go to, and it is surprisingly larger than that of Dark Soul’s universe.
Despite this impeccable attunement to detail, the combat falls a bit short of expectations and requires polish, specifically in terms of the lock-on camera and the ‘floatiness’ of your character. Nonetheless, Lords of the Fallen will provide more than 50 hours of playtime, especially for those who like experimenting with multiple builds.
So if you are a fan of Soulslike games, then you will not regret picking it up on Steam! Be sure to also hop on over to theLords of the Fallen Wikifor more on the game.
Last but not least in our Steam Autumn Sale list is Hogwarts Legacy, which is on a deep discount at 40% despite having been released this year. This is equivalent to US$ 35.99! The game is simply perfect and is a no-brainer for Harry Potter fans who want to experience being a student in the wizarding world.
Not only is the world created by Avalanche Software extremely immersive but also nostalgic. Players can roam the castle grounds and even hop on to Hogsmeade to drink their favorite Butter Beer. There are just so many activities to do and areas to explore because of how huge Hogwarts Legacy is. Even for those who are not Harry Potter fans, this title nailed the entire experience and is definitely worth buying!
