The latest update introduces theBoss Challenge mode, where players can face the game’s 19 bosses. However, to challenge each one, they must first defeat them in the main campaign, as explained by Kim Hyung Tae, the game director, on the official PlayStation blog. Additionally, after finishing the game, users seeking a greater challenge can face their rivals at the highest difficulty.
Upon accessing this mode, the user can select the equipment used in the campaign or choose from some of the preset configurations. However, the game director mentions that there are various ways to approach the challenge: “choose the minimum preset for a true challenge, which is extremely discreet, or the maximum preset, which has all your skills and stats enhanced, if you want to mock the boss with a spectacular fight.”
Once players defeat a boss, they will receive a detailed report of their on-screen statistics, including battle time, successful counters, use of consumables, and other relevant data. This way, players will be able to compare their data with friends to see who better masters the art of attacking and surviving inStellar Blade.
On the other hand, every achievement has its reward, as defeating all bosses in Boss Challenge on normal difficulty or higher will grant players the Neurolink outfit for Eve, the protagonist. However, this is not the only addition in this update, as the White Kunoichi and Black Kunoichi skins will also be available.
This patch, besides introducing a new mode and the newly mentioned skins, presents various improvements and adjustments in the game. For example, the option to always display the compass on the map interface has been included, and the ranged attack mode has been improved when aiming at an enemy, fixing the target despite weapon changes.
