Stranger of Paradise Final Fantasy Origin Reveals DLC, “Wanderer of the Rift” Featuring Gilgamesh
Stranger of Paradise shows off the Wanderer of the Rift DLC, its main star Gilgamesh, new labyrinth, Chaos Monsters and more.
Fans of this year’s Action-RPG,Stranger of Paradisefinally have more info on the game’s second DLC. Titled Wanderer of the Rift, this is the 2nd of three planned expansions for the spectacle fighter.
This new entry heavily features the infamous Gilgamesh, who originally made their appearance in Final Fantasy V. Gilgamesh is a mysterious warrior with many different iterations. However, Team Ninja has selected his somewhat most iconic look: a Japanese warrior monk with a predominantly red color scheme and white face paint.
The biggest addition to Stranger of Paradise in the Wanderer DLC is the introduction of The Rift Labyrinth. These are a series of randomly generated dungeons that have varying layouts, objectives, and rewards. Not much was specifically mentioned or shown off in terms of these repeatable areas. We can expect new loot to collect and monsters to hinder our progress.
Exclusive to the new Gilgamesh difficulty mode are Chaos Monsters. These foes can potentially appear anywhere, even outside the Rift Labyrinth. Due to their greater challenge, Chaos Monsters also reward greater loot.
Relics are a new gear tier that can be found throughout the Gilgamesh difficulty. Aside from having increased stats, they have also been blessed by summons themselves. This increases their power as well.
Two other aspects of the Wanderer of the Rift DLC focus on the monstrous side of things. First up is the Monster Bell, a new item that the player can collect. It appears that Jack can finally befriend some specific terrifying creatures and call on them in battle to aid him. Even the fearsome and annoying Malboro enemies can be called to action, making use of their signature bad breath to throw enemies into disarray.
To actually find a Monster Bell, players need to complete special quests involving the same monsters. Once done, they will need to talk to them, feed them, and actually become friends first.
The Blue Mage is also the newestJobavailable. This ever-popular job class is focused on absorbing enemies’ powers and then eventually using them against the same foes. Blue Magic specifically allows the use of instant abilities that do not expend charges. Instead, you can even use your MP to increase effectiveness.
It wasn’t specifically mentioned whether the Blue Mage would be categorized under Basic, Advanced, or Expert Jobs. We can assume though that they will sit in the middle, in the Advanced tier along with the other colored mages, likeWhite,Black, andRed.
Gilgamesh is arguably the biggest star of the show in this Stranger of Paradise DLC. He’s so big that he even got a difficulty level named after him. Jack will need to face off against this legendary six-armed man in different scenarios, possibly all within the Rift Labyrinth.
This entity’s very existence causes rifts of chaos to thrive in the world, as he can freely jump from one dimension to another. And as we all know, Jack does not like Chaos at all. Gilgamesh makes use of different weapons in battle, such as swords and spears (often at the same time). He can even make use of the powerful Zantetsuken sword.
Stranger of Paradise Final Fantasy Origin’s latest DLC will be available starting October 26. It is also only available through the $24.99 Season Pass. Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem like there’s a way to order the DLCs piecemeal just yet.
The previous DLC for Stranger of Paradise was calledThe Dragon Kingand focused primarily on the legendary Bahamut. This allowed players to summon Bahamut using the newly introduced Summoner class. It also added new weapons, and more.
