Sword Coast Legends Announces Plans For Future Support
In a “State of the Game” post to fans on theirofficial site, Dan Tudge, Director ofSword Coast Legendsand President of developer n-Space detailed the plans for the PC game’s post launch support. Acknowledging the polarized reception for the game (our own Castielle enjoyed it), Tudge outlined a continued commitment to support the game and to address the concerns of those disappointed with the present version of the game.
Starting today, the game will receive a series of planned content and feature updates free of charge to players. The schedule is as follows:
Halloween Update: “The Pumpkin Patch”: October 30th
Community Pack 1: Week of November 9th
Community Pack 2: Week of November 30th
Community Pack 3: December
Rage of Demons: Coming Soon
Return to the Underdark in this all-new adventure taking place as part of D&D’s “Rage of Demons” storyline, featuring the legendary outcast drow Drizzt Do’Urden and some of the deadliest enemies ever to terrify Faerûn.
There are quite a bit of features coming, from new monsters and tiles, to branching dialogue, mod support, interface tweaks, more DM control and gameplay improvements. Many of these features are direct responses to criticisms and once implemented, could transform the game completely.
It’s clear that there is attentiveness at concern on the part of the developer to make the game as broadly liked as possible and one that delivers on the expectations players had for it. Whether or not those expectations are realistic is another discussion, but n-Space seems determined to at least attempt to make them a reality. This is clearly not an ideal launch, but the beauty (or bane depending on your view) of the modern era of gaming is the ability to patch things up post launch. We’ll continue to provide updates as the game evolves. PS4 and Xbox One are due to receive the game in the near future.
