Sword Coast Legends Community Pack 2 Available

Have you been playingSword Coast Legendson PC? If you haven’t and are a fan of Baldur’s Gate, Dungeons and Dragons or the Forgotten Realms, it might be a worthwhile investment to check this game out.We enjoyed itat launch and although the game released to mixed reviews, developer nSpacepromised to continue to support the gamelong after release with a slew of freeDLCto help shape it into what the players really want. In keeping with their promises, Community Pack 2 is available this week for players and makes quite a few gameplay fixes as well as adds some new features players have hoped for.

Here is everything this new free dlc pack includes for players as listed on the officialSword Coast Legends site:

With Drows now a playable subrace, everyone who ever envisioned a dual wielding ranger outcast with no weaknesses can now indulge their deepest Mary Sue fantasies. Individual loot fixes a huge gripe that players had with the game, especially when playing online with others. Losing gear to a ninja who ran ahead opening every chest really discouraged people from giving the online drop in drop out more of a consistent try. nSpace also continues to add options for Dungeon Masters who are looking to take their story telling to another level. If you’ve had a chance to watch our Sword Coast Legends stream when the game released, you would understand just how hilarious and unexpected playing through a live dungeon can be. The game continues to improve with every update. It’s a fun time at a reasonable price if you’ve got some spare holiday money laying around. It’s also due to be released on consoles at some point in the near future. Editor at Fextralife. I look for the substantial in gaming and I try to connect video games to the emotions and stories they elicit. I love all things culture and history and have an odd fondness for the planet Jupiter. I think my dogs are pretty awesome too.

It’s a good game. It’s not a great game like Divinity, at least not yet, we’ll see where future updates take it. But I think it was more the victim of people’s expectations especially when it came to DM mode. People were expecting a virtual tabletop and didn’t stop to consider that digitizing what happens in a live session is really almost impossible, unless the game could read your mind and create stuff on the fly that also fit into 5e (loosely) rules.

But overall it’s 20 dollars less than a game like Divinity so I think it’s appropriately valued, and even a bargain if you can extract more enjoyment out of the DM module mode, which is has fun potential if approached with the proper mindset. Honestly the live stream we had of Cas playing through with a random party and live DM was one of the most hilarious gaming sessions I’ve ever witnessed. I had tears coming out of my eyes in laughter at the stuff the people were ad libbing.

It gets better the further in you go, but it isn’t as good as the other two, and it’s not priced in the same range as them because of this. The main thing it has going for it, imo, is the fact you can play 4 player in dungeons of anyone’s creation against a Dungeon Master with you character you took through the game and get new and better loot and keep leveling.

So, how good is it really?

I tried it, but I wasn’t drawn in.I loved Divinity:OS, I loved PoE – both had flaws, but felt great.

Sword Coast though… felt ordinary, bland…Does it win you over once you get a bit more into it?

I like that the developers are listening to feedback and implementing updates to address issues. It’s a niche game of course but still quite worth it
