Tales of Three Kingdoms: The Mortal World a Turn-Based 2.D RPG Announced

Softstar Entertainment has announced a turn-based RPG coming to PC called Tales of Three Kingdoms: The Mortal World.

The game Tales of Three Kingdoms: The Mortal World was announced by Softstar Entertainment. A 2.5D role-playing game which takes place in the Three Kingdoms era, where the main character, Dou Fu, tries to avoid trouble in turbulent times. However, his life changes when he meets the “Princess” of the Han Dynasty and gets involved in various events. The game has multiple endings, depending on the choices the player makes.

The game’s combat system is based on Combos, which allows the player to chain different skills of the characters in one attack. The game also has a Generals system, where the player can recruit famous heroes from the Three Kingdoms and form the best team.

From the Steam page, The Mortal World looks to take on an anime style but with a Three Kingdoms twist. If you’ve played games such asOctopath Traveleror more old-school RPGs it has a similar vibe. The visuals do look great with mix of 3D backgrounds and 2D characters. Hopefully, the narrative choices will also give players plenty of agency to affect the ending of the game.

If it’s anything likeWo Long Fallen Dynasty‘s setting which is also set in Three Kingdoms during the Han Dynasty, there should be some awesome battles and skilled fighters to recruit. From the screenshots we also see beasts fighting along with their masters which could throw a curve ball into the types of battles you face.
