Julian Gerighty, the director ofStar Wars Outlaws, feels a little disappointed but assures that they won’t stop working to improve the game, and that the player community is indeed connecting with this open-world concept.
Ubisoft finally releasedStar Wars Outlawsworldwide last week, allowing us to experience a great open-world adventure set in the beloved universe created by George Lucas. However, the reception from critics, with an average score of 76 on Metacritic, doesn’t seem to have fully convinced its director, Julian Gerighty, as he expressed in an interview withGamesRadar+.
“I’m a little disappointed with the Metacritic score; obviously, recognition from the press and critics is very important to us, but the players are really connecting with what we created,” Gerighty said, pointing out that those playing the game seem to be enjoying its open-world concept set in the Star Wars underworld.
Additionally, Gerighty says that the Massive team feels very proud, happy, and satisfied with what they’ve achieved with this adventure, stating that with their four years of work, they have “literally reached the stars.”“I’m really glad to see the incredible in-game images that players are capturing and sharing. I think it’s a good testament to the fact that this is a Star Wars experience like no other before, allowing you to immerse yourself in this world and enjoy virtual tourism.”Lastly, but no less important, Gerighty made it clear that they will continue to provide strong support for the game and won’t stop working on it for years to come to improve it as much as they can. They are certain it will be a game played by “millions of people” for many years.
