Emergence

Editor at Fextralife. I look for the substantial in gaming and I try to connect video games to the emotions and stories they elicit. I love all things culture and history and have an odd fondness for the planet Jupiter. I think my dogs are pretty awesome too.

I’ve been playing TD since day one. I play it nearly everyday for an hour or two. For me, the game has been continually getting better and better. Everything is really starting to reach a balance and the build options are definitely starting to open up. MASSIVE has been doing a good job with making smart changes for balance and incorporating things the players want. The game has had it’s share of problems, but I’ve definitely gotten my money worth and then some.

As far as timed exclusivity goes…can’t say I’m for it, but I understand business is business. Just don’t charge me the same amount of money as the players who get the content first. That’s my biggest gripe with the timed exclusivity deals. Having to wait 30 days negatively impacts my gaming experience in multiple ways. I shouldn’t have to pay the same price for a lesser experience if I’m paying for the content.

Specifically for that reason no, but the companies definitely incorporate that into their marketing when they make claims like the “The most exclusives games in top 10 of sales”. One game isn’t a big deal, but in their minds if they get every multiplatform game to sign off on early content for them they can call themselves “The console with all the early content, so don’t sit around waiting with someone else!”

I hate these exclusive deals developers make with Sony and Microsoft. Has anyone every actually switched consoles (a fair investment) because something comes out a week to a month earlier on the other? God help ’em if someone has…

I think they’re trying to bring players back into the fold with fixing gear and gameplay issues and have listened to player input, but the problem is they can’t seem to release an update or DLC without some major bugs or crashes that require some scrambling to fix.

But in destiny that’s just armour\skins, a handful of exotic weapons(which werent great to be honest apart from hawkmoon) and 1 strike, not an entire dlc. I think it was the beta that PS got anything early.

Got the season pass with special edition but to be honest i can’t see myself going back to it, it was a half decent game that boring very very fast and then the glitches happened

Yeah it’s a pretty stark gap, but that’s what Xbox users are dealing with when it comes to Destiny. PS4 users get stuff earlier and some exclusive content. It’s the new exclusivity war waged over multiplatform games.

A whole month? holy shit.
