Fextralife’s Most Wanted: Lords of the Fallen
We’re always on the look out for the next games that will kindle your gamer fires and in this edition of Most Wanted, we’ve got an upcoming next-gen Action RPG called Lords of the Fallen that is sure to be picking up hype steam over the next few months. If it hasn’t been on your radar, then it most certainly will be soon. Read on for some more insights into this new title that promises to demand your best.
Humanity goes to war with their god and victorious, imprison him within the center of the world. In a desperate attempt at freedom, the god reaches out to escape in vain, and his fingers remain trapped above the ground creating an ominous landscape. After millenia, the demonic armies of the god have risen again without warning to wreak havoc. The hero, Harkyn, heavily tattooed with his sins is the only one who can put an end to the chaos and is sent forth to discover the truth.
Lords of the Fallen is a third person Action RPG with a heavy focus on understanding and mastering the combat. Rather than 100 hours of side quests, the game’s progression will be more centered on players refining their timing in combat and tactics. It will be fast paced and demanding but will also reward players who put in the time to learn and explore the world around them. While not an open world sandbox, the game will feature an explorable world that can be expanded by revisiting prior areas. Magic also plays a role, as do a variety of weapon types, although there is a lack of specific details on how they interact.IGN revealed the first gameplaytoday and the game looks as brilliant to play as its art design. Emergence
Editor at Fextralife. I look for the substantial in gaming and I try to connect video games to the emotions and stories they elicit. I love all things culture and history and have an odd fondness for the planet Jupiter. I think my dogs are pretty awesome too.
I WANT IT!
Me too!I saw the gameplay and really enjoyed it.Except for the part that the boss starts to think that is part of the “baryshnikov ballet” (what was that?)Looks like a good son of the Dark Souls …
This game seems like it could have lot of potential. Got me very interested with this, thank you!
It appears very much like the Soul Series. There was rolling, blocking, 2-handing (Which looked identical to most 2 handing stances in Demon Souls), stamina . Even the combat and exploration is very similar. The only difference is the speed and lack of items. Enemies move quick and have more range per attack, but so does the player.
I would keep an eye on it and, so far, it looks like an alternative to Dark Souls for next-gen console users. Like Juutas said, it has much potential. But now, we have to see if said potential can be realized.
This does look somewhat similar to Dark Souls, not sold on the story and single protagonist concept yet, but we’ll have to see more!
I’m seeing a blend of Darksiders with Ninja Gaiden (if their promises of punishing combat are legit). If that’s the case it will be a fun ride, however I am still waiting to see how deep it is. There is a ng+ but reports say you can blow through the campaign in 15 hours yet dev says with side quests and exploration it can be played infinitely. So I’m not sure what to expect. It would be nice to have it be a game people can play through like a God of War and then also be a game people can sink their teeth into via upgrades, items, weapons etc.
I been keeping and eye on this game since I first heard of it. Very interesting gameplay and comments. I’m waiting for the next one!
i hope there’s a lot of sidequests. and loot.
