Bit Reactor,the developer working on aStar Warsstrategy game for EA, has recently revealed that work on the title has not been interrupted and will continue as planned.
Last week was difficult for the industry, and more so because of our strong relationships within the other teams at Respawn.But for those asking, we are still hard at work, and our game was unaffected by last week’s news.
The issue is that withinEA’s new structure, the company will seek to phase out licensed titles in favor of working on its own IPs, sports games, and massive online communities.
This information comes from Electronic Arts, who confirmed the layoffs and that Respawn will no longer be working on this new FPS installment of the well-known franchise. On the other hand, the developer will focus all its efforts on the Star Wars Jedi saga.
We’re not sure what theStar Wars strategy gamewill be like or when we’ll get a glimpse of it, but for those who feared it was lost along with The Mandalorian game, it seems we have nothing to worry about.
