The Surge Releases New Stronger, Faster, Tougher Combat Trailer, Pre-Order Bonuses Revealed

Focus Home Interactive and Deck 13 have released a new combat cinematic trailer ofThe Surge, their upcoming dystopic Action RPG. Check it out:

The trailer gives a tongue in cheek look at corporate wellness trends that profess to care for the health of their employees, both body in mind, in this case the evil climate killing corpCREO. Meanwhile on the ground level, we see main protagonistWarrenbattling it out with a series of deranged former coworkers and machines, all of them decked out in the game’s signature mecharmor. We get to see some of the visceralweaponuse, as limbs are targeted and hacked off. The combat overall matches the speed of evasion with the heft of heavy machinery weaponry giving it a unique feel that some have called Mech-Bloodborne. The trailer’s high energy club track give the fights a grim dance floor vibe.

They have also released the Pre-order info for the game:

Thoughts on the new trailer? The Surge is set to release May 16th for the PS4, Xbox One and PC. Keep checking back with us for more updates!

Editor at Fextralife. I look for the substantial in gaming and I try to connect video games to the emotions and stories they elicit. I love all things culture and history and have an odd fondness for the planet Jupiter. I think my dogs are pretty awesome too.

Lookin’ good so far. My main problems with Lords of the Fallen (The game these guys did before) were that the story was meh, and there were like 5 basic enemies that you fought for the entire game. I’ve already seen a good amount of enemy variety from the trailers alone, so I’m feeling confident in that department.Story-wise, they’ve got a good setup with the corporate/climate conflict with whatever-went-wrong mixed in. Hopefully they don’t waste it.
