The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt PS4 Pro ‘Crash Fix’ Incoming!
Owners of the PlayStation 4 Pro rejoiced when developer CD Projektfinally releasedthe promised PS4 Pro Upgrade patch, allowing them to playThe Witcher 3: Wild Huntat 4K resolution along with a nicely added boost to performance.
That happy story didn’t last very long as the 4K Upgrade patch also introduced a nasty side-effect in the form of crashing for some PS4 Pro owners, leaving the game in an unplayable state. They raised their concerns in aNeoGAF threadand at the/r/PS4Pro subreddit.
“My game has crashed 5 times since yesterday and also froze in a cutscene once with the error code being CE-34878-0.”states NeoGAF user Lnds500
And for a moment things seemed to turn for the worse as CD Projekt implied in a message that they would not be resolving the issue. But this was soon corrected as a simple misunderstanding, according to an email exchange between the developer andEurogamer.
“This response was simply a miscommunication on our end,”CD Projekt, in response to Eurogamer.
Furthermore, the developer acknowledged the issue and assured that a fix is on the way.
“We are aware of the issues some users have been experiencing following the PS4 Pro Patch and we are looking into addressing those as soon as possible.”
The Witcher 3: Wild Huntis currently available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
