The Witcher 3 Will Not Receive an Upgrade for the PS4 Pro

Speaking toEurogamertoday, a representative from CD Projekt Red had the following statement to say about the possibility of aWitcher 3update to support the 4K capabilities of the PS4 Pro:

Since we want to fully focus onCyberpunk 2077andGwent, and converting The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt from a full HD game into a 4K one [on console] would be too much of a time and resource-consuming process, we decided not to release an edition of Wild Hunt supporting the new features of PlayStation Pro.

The Witcher 3 does feature 4K support on PC so players looking to take advantage of the increased resolution should plan to play it on that platform. Eurogamer goes on to explain why making a conversion is not exactly an easy proposition, and would require significant resource allocation.

There are a host of new and existing titles receiving the 4K treatment on the PS4 Pro, such asHorizon Zero DawnandElder Scrolls Online, and many more will undoubtedly follow. Excited about the prospect of 4K gaming?  Let us know in the comments!

Good. It doesn’t really need one and I want Cyberpunk to make me give birth its so good.

It’s a real shame they aren’t upgrading this. Elder Scrolls Online will and that makes me happy. I’m anxiously awaiting this machine upgrade…

And also hoping it means dragon’s dogma remaster for ps4! \0/

You know an article with full details on games getting PS4 Pro support or Xbox Scorpio upgrades would be fantastic!

(Un)fortunately I have a mass of hair , so I do pay someone else to cut it. xD

I have no idea the actual cost of monitors these days. Mine is a few years old I was gifted. I am guessing 2g because of inflation and “new new new! technology” that everyone “must have.”

From a quick google search I guess more like 5-700 for a 4k. Well that is not so bad… but still more than I would want to pay.

you pay for haircuts?

also, a 2000$ Monitor! Shoot, I got an HD LCD multi-purpose monitor for 20$. For 2000$, I better get a high end computer chair, a top of the line keyboard and mouse, and a happy ending with it.

While I have, and can, make 4k textures I have yet to see them in proper use at home or on another computer monitor. I have a hard time justifying a 25$ haircut let alone a $2k monitor or tv.

Props on the restraint. Lots of people would just say GIMME NOW if given the same opportunity.

I went to Walmart the other day, and saw a 4K tv at work side by side with a regular 1080p HD tv. While subtle, I could see the difference, and the 4K resolution looks sharper and clearer. My father offered to buy it for me for 500$ in exchange for my current one, but given how most media doesn’t play 4K all that much yet, I figured waiting until 4K has become more standard, and the price drops.
