The Witcher 4 Aims To Be “The Best Game Possible”
The Witcher 4, codenamedProject Polaris, has officially entered active development, with the goal of becoming the best game in the saga.
This sentiment was echoed by the saga’s narrative director, Philipp Weber, in response to a tweet from a player comparingThe Witcher 3: Wild Huntto the upcoming installment.
Following an announcement by director Sebastian Kalemba, Philipp Weber celebrated the fourth game’s entry into production, coinciding with the release of a new book by Andrzej Sapkowski.
“We’re not trying to surpass it, as we’re still very proud of what we achieved back then. Our goal is to at least live up to that legacy, and the only way to do that is to stay true to what makesThe Witcherwhat it is and simply create the best game possible.”
This approach seems like a wise decision, particularly to manage fan expectations. Perhaps that’s why CD Projekt has decided not to reveal too many details until development is in its later stages.
The Witcher 4is just one of several projects currently in development at CD Projekt. Other titles in the works include The Witcher Remake (Project Canis Majoris), a multiplayer Witcher game, Cyberpunk 2 (Project Orion), and Hadar, the Polish studio’s new IP.
