The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep Reveals Its Release Date
While the audience awaits the return ofThe Witcherwith its fourth season, which will introduce Liam Hemsworth as the newGeralt of Riviaafter Henry Cavill’s abrupt and unfortunate departure from the fantasy project, Netflix is preparing to release a new project tied to Sapkowski’s universe to further explore its vast world.
The film, which will feature a classic anime-style design, will include Doug Cockle, the American actor who voices Geralt in the CD Projekt video games.
“It’s really exciting. I didn’t expect to be asked, as I hadn’t had any communication with Netflix. When I got the call, I accepted without hesitation. The anime recordings are already done, and now I’m just waiting to see if I need to record any additional lines,” the actor confessed, clearly thrilled.
While the news is very positive for fans ofThe Witcher, it comes with a bittersweet note, as Netflix confirmed that the fifth season of the live-action series will be the last, following numerous creative issues with the adaptation of the book saga.
Henry Cavill reportedly left the series because it was taking too many liberties with the source material, leading the story in confusing directions that did not sit well with the audience, as reflected in the criticism of the third season.
In any case,The Witcher: Sirens of the Deepwill also feature the voices of Anya Chalotra, Christina Wren, and Joey Batey, offering a chance to bring Sapkowski’s world back to the forefront of the genre
