Offering PS Plus Games this May now includes a dark fantasy Action-RPG. Thymesia joins this month along with the likes of Humanity, Dishonored 2, Conan Exiles and more. We’ll go over some of the top picks you shouldn’t miss coming May 16th.
Thymesia the challenging action role-playing game is one of the gems this month for PS Plus. Its fast-paced combat and intricate plague weapon system will have souls-like lovers in for a treat. The game is more akin to Bloodborne due to its mechanics but is more forthcoming with its story.
Taking up the role of Corvus, a mysterious plague doctor who must use his skills to fight his way through a kingdom ravaged by a deadly plague. To defeat your enemies, you will need to use a variety of plague weapons, which you can seize from gruesome bosses and formidable enemies. You can also shift into your raven form during battle, which will allow you to throw feathers like daggers to interrupt your enemies’ attacks and perform executions.
We gave the game a commendable 7.8 in ourThymesia review. Calling it a soul-like “that you will keep coming back to”. Thymesia joins Playstation Plus Extra and Premium tier from May 16th.
A blend of rice farming and action combat, might seem none complementary activities. However, Sakuna manages to fit the two into one fun-filled side-scroller.
Taking up tools to farm to only grow your own rice seedlings but to also fight demons. Playing as Sakuna a goddess banished to an island now teeming with demons. She will hone her strength from her quality rice crop, affecting her combat abilities.
In addition to farming, you must also battle demons. To do this, you will use farm tools as weapons. You can chain together quick, heavy, and special attacks to take down your enemies. The magical “divine raiment” will also be essential for your survival. The divine raiment allows you to grapple distant platforms, evade danger, and overcome powerful enemies.
Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin also joins the PS Plus Extra and Premium tier.
If you’re looking for turn-based rather than action combat, take a look at Blade Dancer: Lineage of Light. The Prismatic Moon once protected the world from evil, but now an ancient evil has returned. The Dread Knight has reappeared and is wreaking havoc across the land. The Dark Lord is gathering his strength, and the world’s only hope rests in the hands of Lance, a reluctant young adventurer.
Blade Dancer: Lineage of Light is a turn-based RPG that was originally released on the PSP. It has since been enhanced for the PS4 and PS5, complete with up-rendering, rewind, quick save, and custom video filters. The game features a turn-based combat system, with each character having a unique set of skills and abilities. Its customisable character equipment and abilities mean moulding the experience to your own preferred playstyle.
Blade Dancer: Lineage of Light joins as Playstation Premium Classic.
