Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrificeis a third-person action game for the PS4 and PC, set in a fantasy world inspired by Celtic mythology, developed by Ninja Theory, creator of Enslaved, Heavenly Sword, and DMC: Devil May Cry. In the game we make our way through a dark world from the folklore of the Celts and take on the role of a female warrior named Senua who journeys to the land of the dead. Afflicted by mental illness, Senua will take on dangerous enemies using a variety of tactical combos and abilities. Although an indie release, Ninja Theory is calling it Indie AAA and is putting the type of production and polish we’d expect from big publisher backing.

Pillars of Eternity: Complete Editiontakes the popular PC CRPG and brings it to the PS4 and Xbox One for the first time. Developed by Obsidian Entertainment Pillars of Eternity is an RPG inspired by classic titles such as Baldur’s Gate, Icewind Dale, and Planescape: Torment, you play as a Watcher, who looks into other people’s souls and memories and their past lives, who eventually embarks on a world spanning quest accompanied by companions. The port is being handled by publisher Paradox Interactive and includes the base game and its important patches as well as the two expansions, The White March and The White March Part 2. The gameplay is unchanged, but the controls and UI have been tweaked to better work with controllers.

Starcraft Remasteredis a remastered version of the culture defining PC real time strategy from 1998. Developed by Blizzard Entertainment (ever heard of ’em?), Starcraft Remastered contains the base game plus the Brood War expansion. Notable features are significant overhauls to the audio and graphics, support for 4K and enhanced interludes. The game will also feature advanced matchmaking, cloud save storage, leaderboards and more. The core gameplay remains the same classic rocks, paper, scissor formula that launched an entire esports culture and lets you choose from 3 playable races to do battle in real time. You gather resources, build your base and support structures, make units and then set out to defeat your enemy in battle. Each race features 2 story campaigns and once you’ve finished those up, you can jump into the game’s varied and highly competitive multiplayer.

Ark: Survival Evolvedfrom Studio Wildcard is a Survival Sandbox RPG coming to the PS4, Xbox One and PC. Set in an open world, full of prehistoric creatures, notably the dinosaurs that have enraptured us all since childhood. After a 2 year early access period, the game is finally being released in full, and will ship with more than 100 beasts to battle and ultimately tame. You will begin the game mysteriously dropped into this Jurassic jungle, completely defenseless and you must hunter, gather and build your way to safety. Once you master survival, you can begin to thrive and move into the high tech, designing weapons, armor and complicated bases. The animals you tame can be mounted and used for offensive and defensive purposes, and eventually you will be taking on some truly epic endgame bosses. You will interact with other players and work together to survive or turn on each other in competition, even slavery. Damn. There’s also poop, which you can harvest from beasts or players to fertilize your crops. Yep, poop.

Absolveris a 3rd person online Combat RPG for PS4 and PC and developed by SloClap that is looking to take martial arts to a new digital level. You will assume the role of an absolver, a warrior dedicated to maintaining peace and order. In mostly unarmed combat, although there are weapons, you will customizing a Combat Deck of different martial arts moves and stances that compliment your preferred fighting style. Strikes, counters, blocks, dodges, and feints can all be chained into unique combos. Absolver also features a unique mentor/student system that allows you to learn the style and attacks of another player by engaging them in combat. Dark Souls PvP nuts will find a new home to dojo in Absolver as they will no doubt launch into session after session to refine their style and emerge on top.
