Square Enixreleased their1.15and1.14updates forFinal Fantasy XVthis week, which includes the recently announced“Assassin’s Festival”. This festival event will see the “Assassin’s Festival” overtake the town ofLestallumand will feature gameplay elements from Ubisoft’s action-adventure franchise. In addition to gameplay similar toAssassin’s Creed, the festival will include mini-games as well as a chance to acquire exclusive items, including the “Medjay Assassin’s Robes” for Noctis, Gladiolus, Ignis, and Prompto. It’s been awhile since we’ve brought any new information on this Bandai Namco title that has faint traces of Dark Souls, but we finally have some. Bandai Namco announced this week that Code Vein will be playable for the first at Tokyo Game Show! Not only does this mean that there will be gameplay footage out there in a few weeks, but since we will be attending, we’ll get our own hands-on time with the game and be able to share our thoughts with you guys! Monolith Entertainment and Warner Bros. have let another trailer loose for:Middle-earth: Shadow of War,showing us even more of the game as the launch nears and this time introducing us to the orcs of the ‘Marauder Tribe’. In the newtrailerwe get a good look at the Marauder Tribe, one of the may orc factions within the game, whom the protagonist:Talionwill meet on his new journey.Shadow of Warwill be released on the PS4, Xbox One, and PC onOctober 10.
NIS America announced this week that its upcoming JRPG:Ys VIII: Lacrimosa Of Danaby developer Nihon Falcom, has a playable PS4 demo which is now available on theNorth AmericanandEuropeanPlayStation Stores. This game came in third on ourTop 5 RPGs of September, so check out the demo and see what you think!Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Danais due out on the PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, and PC onSeptember 12thin North America andSeptember 15thin Europe.
The martial arts based Action RPG Absolver, by Sloclap and Devolver Digital launched this week to mostly positive reviews. Some of the things people like about the game are the challenging and complex combat that has much depth and the game’s unique art style. And some of the things people are complaining about are the shortness of the game’s story and the steep learning curve of the game. We will be releasing our review on the both the Blog and YouTube really soon, so stay tuned for that!
Pillars of Eternity: Complete Edition launched this week as well for PS4 and Xbox One. This critically acclaimed game by Obsidian and Paradox Interactive is largely responsible for the resurgence of the CRPG and it has finally come to console! If you’re new to the game, or have never played before, check out ourCombat Guide, that will help prepare you for what’s to come. One can only hope that this begins a trend and that games like Tyranny, Divinity: Original Sin 2 and Pillars of Eternity 2 will make the leap as well.
Larian Studios announced this week that every single line of dialogue inDivinity: Original Sin 2will be voiced! Yes you read that right! This is a HUGE improvement to the game’s precursor and will include over 1 million words, 74,000 lines and 1200 characters.Divinity: Original Sin 2is just a bit over a week away, releasing on September 14th!
