There’s also a Jewel System to add depth to the combat and how we customize our vampires, as well as improve the inventory management feature that many players have been giving their strong feedback on. So without further ado, let’s break down these updates!
Building a tall, dark castle currently has its technical limitations. Constructing this from a hill doesn’t really fulfill the classic vampire fantasies of a foreboding mansion of death. There’s also a consequential problem when starting out with a flat and wide base. This is what’s happening now – the world would be heavily populated quickly. There are too many tall and foreboding structures oddly clumped up so closely together in the starter areas.
So after sacrificing humans and animals for the cause, as the developers weren’t keen on providing more details, they are able to experiment with building one castle floor over the other.
V Rising’s Early Accesshas swept the player base by surprise during its release from how well-integrated the gameplay mechanics are to how you build and live your (undead) life as a vampire. To make matters more interesting, the developers are planning to expand and enhance the world even more. The idea is to make it look more realistic by adding detailed shades of lighting and colors while introducing a new Quartz deposit area. Lighting in particular already looks fantastic in the current build, so it would be interesting to see how they improve upon this even more.
Alongside this, you can expect to encounter more bosses and various enemies to strengthen your V Blood!
One of the bigger changes is the trading mechanic via the Marketplace. Players will get to spend coins on random goods, which change every now and then. These will be stationed in distinct locations and will provide another way of purchasing rare items. Items may come in the form of a recipe you’re looking for or gems that you may need. Furthermore, they’re not simple pop stores you can just walk to. For instance, in Dunley, vampires are frowned upon. So, unless you pretend to be a regular human being, you won’t get your teeth on the goods you want to buy.
If you think they’re finished, you’re wrong. Although the details are cryptic for now, Stunlock Studios promises players “to be tested in new ways, explore new technology, and tap into the blood memory of a whole new area to add to your vampiric repertoire of talents, magics, and so much more”.
Jewels will make their way into V Rising pretty soon to improve the diversity of your character’s abilities and perks. The idea is to create a synergy between spells and their effects to create multiple combos. You can then expect combat to be much more dynamic and fluid due to the customizations available.
Furthermore, you’ll also see spell school updates with distinct effects associated with them. For instance, when you think of the Unholy School, you’ll immediately think of summoning the undead to aid you in combat. And finally, there’s going to be a brand new spell school. More details will be revealed in the next dev blog update, whenever that is.
Part of what makes V Rising special is the ways in which each gameplay element has a role to play like organizing the items you intend to keep. Inventory Management is not a joke, especially in survival crafting genres. Although no concrete plans have been set in stone, Stunlock Studios is giving its word that player feedback will be listened to.
Changes that we can expect to see include the types of materials we’re able to carry store. It’s a bit tricky because, on one hand, these issues have to be solved efficiently yet on the other, how does one improve a system that isn’t a downgrade or oversimplification of what’s already available? Only time will tell but I’m hoping they get this one sorted out soon.
Given this major patch, official servers will be wiped to fully update the world of Vardoran. This will also be applicable to players who wish to experience new features even if they’re part of a private server. But fear not since the end times is only temporary for large updates! If you haven’t tried the game already, then perhaps next year would be perfect to sink your teeth into it!
