Warframe Duviri Paradox Roguelite Mode Delayed, Details Upcoming Updates

Warframe details its upcoming updates, including the delay of the Roguelite mode The Duviri Paradox.

The team at Digital Extremes recently held their 165th Dev Stream on the official Warframe Twitch Channel. While they had tons of updates to look forward to, they did share some sad news. The highly anticipated open-world Roguelite mode,The Duviri Paradox, needs more time in the oven.

A Pedro Pascal lookalike is the main character of the Duviri Paradox. It will be an extremely stylish roguelite mode being added to the looter shooter. The mode actually is also quite visually distinct, starting out in a stark black and white but eventually will start gaining splashes of color.

The Duviri Paradox is also quite unlike anything that Digital Extremes has tried thus far. For one, it has a time loop paradox in play, in which death sets The Drifter back to the start of quite an unfortunate scenario. Much like the main game, this mini-expansion will feature satisfying combat though the previews did show that it was noticeably slower.

Instead, Warframe players will have access to Lua’s Prey in place of The Duviri Paradox. This chapter was initially intended to be a prequel to the Paradox but will be released as a standalone experience instead.

The highlight of the update will be the 51st Warframe, Voruna. This newest frame is actually partially designed by the developer’s Design Council as well as Community Votes. Her visuals revolve around the look of a wolf. There isn’t an official look at her yet, nor her abilities.

Voruna will also come with her own Leverian (museum) entry, as well as a visually unique axe and sniper rifle.

Aside from the newest Warframe, Lua’s Prey update will also include two new survival missions with special gameplay mechanics. These are called “Conjunction Survival” missions to have a distinction between the regular infinite survival mode.

Players can also take out their Necramech, or gigantic robot suit, for a spin on some of these missions. To reward the best Conjunction Survivors, players can expect to receive new Masterpiece tiles that will shed some more light on Warframe’s deep lore. It will also serve as an explanation of some of the “strange visual effects” that are plaguing the Lua mission tileset.

Aside from that, the harder Conjunction Survival modes will introduce rare items such as Voruna’s part blueprints so that folks can actually craft her. More skins will also make their appearance in this update.

There will be new encounters focused on Ven’kra Tel & Sprag in Break Narmer-type missions. Of course, we can also expect Skins, cosmetics, as well as some QoL updates in November.

Unfortunately, just like the Duiviri Paradox, cross-platform play is not yet ready and still also undergoing some testing. The final Cross-Save functionality will be introduced sometime next year as well. Cross-play testing between PC and Xbox players has been ongoing since October 6th, and will soon include more platforms.

Digital Extremes is also hard at work on their second-ever game,Soulframe. Instead of hard Sci-Fi, Soulframe will be a fantasy MMO instead.
