Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 Roadmap
The Warhammer 40,000 universe will soon receive a new game, and it’s not just any game. It was the closest thing to Gears of War we’ve seen in the sci-fi saga and one of the most important action games on the PS3 and Xbox 360.
More than a decade later, Warhammer 40,000 Space Marine 2 (developed by Saber Interactive) faces the challenging task of maintaining that standard. But you can rest assured, because everything points to it being even better than the original. We now know the official requirements for Space Marine 2, as well as its verification for Steam Deck (it will also be playable on other console-like PCs, such as the ROG Ally), and now more light has been shed on Saber Interactive’s future plans.
The game has three different editions. The standard edition offers a DLC as a pre-order incentive, while the other two editions (Gold and Ultra) include the season pass and four days of early access.
The first notable addition is the Macragge’s Chosen DLC, available as a pre-order incentive for all editions of the game. It includes skins for the chainsword and bolter rifle, as well as an exclusive right pauldron.
The cosmetics from this DLC are unlocked by completing a campaign mission (Skyfire), so they won’t be added by default. Owners of the Gold and Ultra editions will have access to the season pass content, which will be purely cosmetic (no gameplay elements). The highlights include the Ultramarines Champions Pack (Ultra edition only).
After the release of Space Marine 2, Season 1 will begin. Saber Interactive’s plan is for it to run throughout September, leading into Season 2 between October and November.
