Wayfinder Details Q1 Roadmap and Job Board Preview

Wayfinderis pushing forward with a slew of updates as it prepares for the official launch day, which has yet to be confirmed by Airship Syndicate. However, there’s much to rejoice about because there are many things that they’ve planned to significantly improve the game. Let’s dive into it!

To be transparent about the changes that the developer is about to make on Wayfinder, they’ve decided to publish a Job Board, which is now public. This major push at transparency is one thing that players like us appreciate so we can anticipate what’s about to come. For instance, there will be an increase in the reward drops for Memory Fragments, Gloomstone Shards, and Reward Tower XP in the form of Daily Challenges and more Quests.

These Quests will not only cater to the backstories of the world but to the Wayfinders themselves. And by knowing more about the characters you play as well as diving more into who they are, you’ll gain unique items along the way. It also appears that Daily Login rewards will also make its way into the game sometime soon together with more cosmetics. Because of course, what’s an MMORPG without fashion?

What’s more is that for each newseason, a newWayfinderwill be introduced into the game alongside their signature weapon and other weapons to be used by the rest of the heroes. Also, similar to how we’ve unlockedSenjathrough a bunch of missions, this is how we’ll be able to acquire a new character.

To make the gameplay feel faster, a new Hookshot traversal mechanic is planned to be implemented on certainLost Zones. Hookshot allows your character to speedily zip in and out of distant locations rather than having to run toward them. Plus, this lets you obtain seemingly far-reaching objects, say from a cliff, rather than having to figure out how to get up there in the first place. I’m thinking something along the lines ofMonster Hunter Rise’s wirebugs!

Next is the Discovery Book version 2. This expands on the rewards that players gain because of the challenges they’ll be able to complete as they progress further into Wayfinder. Aside from the added lore and information about specific creatures and events, you’ll be gaining more in-game currency and cosmetics. Who doesn’t want this?!

You’ll possibly get Mythic Rush echo variants, extra accessory and crafting materials, Black Gloomstone drops, which are pretty tough to come by, together with an increased Affinity Cap. There will also be Mythic Hunt Bounties, which once completed, will reward an “Essence or Vestige for Awakening Levels 4 + 5”.

Awakening Levels will be connected to several character progression features on Wayfinder. There’s the Archetype System, which helps bolster the amount of bonuses you earn. These include boosting the max level of your equipment, accruing enough affinity points, and gaining more passives to boost the effectiveness of your heroes. Additionally, a talent tree will be put in place that will come in handy for those who want to swap from one build to the next. The great thing about this is that you won’t have to regrind any of your archetype levels just to earn more talent points.

And last but not least is the Armory Rank. When your weapon reaches Level 30, granting you an Armormy Rank. At certain milestones, either your weapon stats, echo capacity, or tempers increase. Currently, the plan is to maintain a max value of 20 Armory Rank.

Next up are themountsand Frostmarch Expansion. The newzonesthat will be introduced as part of the expansion in the game are shaping up to be massive as mounts are already being designed alongside them. Those who have purchased the Founders Pack will be getting a Highlands Strider, which is but one of the many mounts that Airship Syndicate is planning to implement on Wayfinder.

Speaking of these new zones, you can expect them to be double the size of Highlighlands since it’ll be open world. There will be Points of Interest to help you navigate your way through together with even more world bosses and events.

The last perk for Founders is access to Grendel and his tower, provided that they’ve also bought the FS2 Reward Tower. This then leads to the very first 6-player raid on Wayfinder. But since this will involve more work from the players, it’s planned to be released in early Q2. So it’ll be interesting to see how the raid will work, the number of participants as well as how many players get to finish first.

Due to the optimization issues being encountered by the developer, they’re also reassuring everything that hotfixes are already on the way to improve the game’s performance.
