Windblown Surprises With New Gameplay
Windblownpresents new gameplay, the latest project from the studio that createdDead Cells, shaping up to be a promising roguelike with a top-down perspective. The game will feature fast-paced, intense gameplay, packed with platforming and frenetic action.
The developer has just released a new 15-minute video showcasing pure gameplay, giving us a deep look at how the early stages of the game will play out. This allows us to get a good sense of the progression system and various gameplay mechanics, particularly the movement and traversal system. We also get a clear view of the game’s graphics and colorful art direction.
InWindblown, players will take on the role of a “jumper,” who can move at dizzying speeds and absorb the memories of fallen warriors to learn their combat styles. While the video only shows single-player gameplay, the final version will include the option to play cooperatively.
Motion Twin’s goal is to release the game as an Early Access title on Steam this year, though no specific release date has been given yet. So, we’ll have to wait a little longer to find out when we can get our hands on it.
“Move freely like lightning between vast and ever-changing sky islands, which will hide even more secrets to discover with every attempt. Master relentless battles against the Vortex Sentinels determined to end you. Prepare yourself and face tyrannical bosses eager to crush you,” Motion Twin teases.
Jumpers can absorb the memories of warriors who fell before them, unlocking special abilities and allowing players to craft their powerful gear.
“For Motion Twin, your feedback is invaluable. Just as you helped us buildDead Cellsduring its Early Access, we would love to gather your input onWindblownto help us make it the best it can be,” the studio announced.
It’s clear thatWindblownis Motion Twin’s new game, and the creators ofDead Cellsare gradually preparing to release a new roguelite action game for 1 to 3 players.
