The FREE DLC program for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt consists of 16 entirely free DLCs, that will be available for every gamer owning a copy of Wild Hunt, for Xbox One, the all-in-one games and entertainment system from Microsoft, PC, and PlayStation®4, and is applicable to all versions (digital or physical, standard or Collector’s).

On February 25th, CD PROJEKT RED will release the first bundle of DLCs (2 of the planned 16) — theTemerian Armor Set(horse armor included) and aBeard and Hairstyle Setfor Geralt, the game’s protagonist. After this date, a DLC bundle consisting of two DLCs will be published every week, entirely for free. Gamers are entitled to the free DLC regardless of obtaining the game via pre-order or after launch. Instructions on how to obtain DLCs on specific platforms will be provided at a later date.

Judging from the announced dlcs, I would think the vast majority are cosmetic choices.

It could be in new areas, reached from a Hub.

It’s probably intended to keep people playing and/or stuff they wanted to do but couldn’t meet publisher deadlines. Be glad it’s free, EA/Ubisoft/Capcom would charge you for it. (though, I actually agree. I like how TES and Fallout handle things better. Full blown expansions several months in. We all knew they were coming and are totally cool with spending $120 on a game we’re going to put thousands of hours into)

Anyone else think this is a bit overkill? Is anyone going to actually play all 16 DLCs?? I think it would be rather annoying to have to keep revisiting a section of the game every week because something new appeared there that wasn’t there when you came through 3 days before…

Can companies just give us a complete game already? Add an expansion a few months in if it is successful?
