Wuthering Waves Baizhi Build Guide

In thisWuthering Waves Baizhi Build Guidewe’re going to be covering a healer support build, for Baizhi. This build focuses on sustaining and increasing the DPS of the main carry. Baizhi is mainly a substitute healer for the second or third team on Tower of Adversity.

Baizhiis one of the guaranteed characters you receive early on inWuthering Waves. You obtain her with your very firstwishon the standard or beginner banner after unlocking the“Convene”system.Baizhiis one of the two pure healers inWuthering Wavesand also functions as a buffer. However, she only provides buffs to the next selected character, not the entire team. This limitation can make her less appealing compared to stronger, specialized buffers and might hinder team composition for some setups.

You have to useBaizhiin the endgame mode,Tower of Adversity, even if she’s less favorable. The reason is that this mode requires three teams, with at least nine different characters, three of whom are sustain units. Since theWuthering Wavesroster doesn’t have many pure healers at launch,Baizhiis a very strong candidate regardless. However, her position will drop down in the future as the game releases more healers, especially those you can obtain for free.

For now,Baizhiis likely among the first six units any account builds, and she’s decent in her role. There are other sources of buffs she can add, such as anATK bufffrom the healing set and a damage bonus fromEcho skills.

Additionally,Baizhiis among the best free units for completing any stage inIllusion Realm mode. She’s ahealerwith asuper-fast attack speed, making her well-suited for theFlame Rider pathinIllusion Realm.Baizhiperforms rapid normal attacks while keeping herself alive, making her an ideal character for finishing the final stage of this mode, at least in the release version ofWuthering Waves. Future versions may vary, butBaizhihas a high chance of remaining optimal in upcoming stages.

Baizhican also revive one character from a fatal blow and restore 100% of their health. This effect comes from her S5 skill and has a 10-minute cooldown, making it very useful on occasion.

For a healer, basic attacks are not important to level up and can be easily left at level one. Their primary function is to give and consume Forte charges, which does not scale with the skill’s level. Basic attacks do not contribute significantly to Baizhi’s own DPS, as they scale with the Attack stat, while every other part of Baizhi’s kit scales with the HP stat.

The only reason to use normal attacks is to gain charges for theForte bar. The only reason to use heavy attacks is to spend these charges for some extra healing ifBaizhi’sskill is on cooldown. This is only important if you are desperate for a little extra healing or need to chargeConcertoenergy to useBaizhi’sOutro. In many cases, though, we skip herOutroaltogether.

InIllusion Realm, as a solo mode,Baizhiwould be our sole character on the field, so we would use her normal attacks all the time. We pick cards that increase attack speed to triggerFlame MeteorsandFlame Ridermore often.

Note thatBaizhi’sattacks are ranged and are executed through a pet-like or minion entity. So in certain encounters where melee attacks are impossible for a brief time, switching toBaizhiis ideal.

On a 16-second cooldown,Baizhicalls her minion to heal the entire team. The heal from her skill is not massive considering the long cooldown. It has two parts: a fixed number and a scaling part. The healing scales with the HP stat and Healing Bonus.

HerResonance Skillalso generatesResonance EnergyandConcerto Energy. However, the amount ofConcerto Energyit generates is too little, so Baizhi has a hard time building enoughConcerto Energyfor herOutro skill.

WithS1, using theResonance skillregains minorResonance Energyfor everyForte stackshe consumes. This meansBaizhishould use four normal attacks before using her skill to regain some energy.S2also gives her a healing and damage bonus upon using theResonance skillat 4 stacks on theForte bar.

Baizhi summons4stacks of other minions, called “Remnant Entities”. These entities perform joint attacks and heal the entire team every 2.5 seconds, four times. At S4, the number of times it ticks is raised to six times, and the healing is increased.

Both the initial cast and every tick heal the team, but again, the values are not impressive. At maxResonance Liberationlevel, the heal is equal to 2.5% of Baizhi’s HP + 617. So even with a 100% Healing Bonus, Baizhi heals only 5% of her Max HP, or 6% of her HP atS4. This is enough to sustain minor hits and is still better than no healer, but it is not sufficient to face tank enemies and take serious damage.

To build Baizhi properly, she needs both high energy and high HP to utilizeResonance Liberationeffectively. It costs a massive 175 energy to castResonance Liberation, and Baizhi doesn’t regain energy quickly. So she really needs very high energy. That’s why a Healing set might not always be the ideal choice for her. More on that in theEcho Setssection below.

On normal attack hit, builds ‘Concentration’ stacks on Baizhi’s Forte bar, up to four stacks. Using Heavy attack or Resonance skill consumes these stacks, to heal the team. Also, regains some Resonance Energy and Concerto Energy per stack consumed.

So the ideal rotation with Baizhi on-field is:

This takes a long time for DPS characters, so the player is put in a tough spot. Sacrifice healing and buff, to switch early and get more DPS uptime, or sacrifice DPS to get some healing and a single target buff on Outro.

This option doesn’t exist in the Illusive Realm, where Baizhi is the sole character on the field. Her job in that mode is attacking rapidly to proc damage from cards she picks from the rewards.

The healing on this Forte is even smaller, and barely reaches 1% of Baizhi max HP.

A simple passive that adds a small buff. When Baizhi uses Resonance Skill, she leaves an item on the floor, that stays after switching. The character who picks it gains a15%ATK increase for20seconds.

It might be a lot of hassle to keep track of, and players tend to lose track of it. Especially since it requires extra movement with precisions to get. So if you obsess over optimization and min-maxing, go pick it. If not, you may ignore it.

AtS6, picking up the item also gives a15%Glacio (Ice) damage bonus buff. This buff is much more significant, if you play a Glacio dps such as Lingyang, and manage to get Baizhi S6. You should pick the buff rather than ignore it.

Restores a tiny bit of HP to the character with the lowest HP on heavy attacks. The percentage is too small,0.25%, or like 25 HP per 10000 Max HP. It’s almost a joke and doesn’t help at all. So ignore it, it isn’t worth the resources.

IntroandOutro skills needfully chargedConcertoenergy to cast. They are important to trigger certainEcho Sets bonuses and weapons. And in thecase of ourWuthering WavesBaizhiBuild, she gives a decent all-type damage buff to one character with her Outro.

BringingBaizhito the field using Intro results in a small team heal, and a plunge attack with her minion. The damage is minor, and the healing is about0.75%HP +150at max level. So less than 1% Which is not that significant.

You can raise it if you have a lot of spare resources, but usually, it’s better to use your materials elsewhere. Especially with the fact that we may switch into Baizhi without Intro, to begin with.

The main buff ability of Baizhi, grants15%all-type damage to the next character. As well as giving a 1.54% of HP as heal every 3 seconds for 30 seconds. This accumulates into 15.4% of HP healing over 30 seconds before the healing bonus, which is very significant.

Outro skillshave fixed numbers, and players can’t level them up. So they start very strong from character level one and stay consistent through the endgame. However, the decision to use anOutrodepends on how desperate your DPS character is for healing and if the buff is worth the time spent building Baizhi’sConcerto energy.

The fact that Baizhi spreads herOutrohealing over a long period provides a kind of reactive healing into the future. This helps mitigate the damage as characters take it. However, if a character’s HP is at 100%, the healing will be wasted.

TheOutro skill’sdesign heavily impacts the rotation. You need to start with Baizhi, then switch to your DPS withOutro, then switch to a buffer support. Perform your support rotation and buffs, then switch back to your DPS to perform their rotation.

This causes some buffs that come from certainIntro skillson DPS to go to waste, specifically those with a 20-second cooldown, such as some weapon passives. You switch to the DPS to get Baizhi’s buff, triggering the weapon buff. Then you switch to a support while the weapon buff expires. When you switch back to DPS, the weapon buff is on cooldown. This shouldn’t stop you from using Baizhi’sOutro, as the 15% is a global modifier to final damage, unlike most weapon buffs that are smaller additive bonuses.

For this Wuthering Waves Baizhi Build, gear is a crucial part, and Weapons are a major part of gearing. Baizhi’s healing scales with HP and healing stat. While her DPS also scales with HP, Crit, and Glacio damage stats. However, her DPS is very unnoticeable, you shouldn’t waste stats on it.

Baizhi’s main obstacle is resonance energy and Concerto energy. So building enough Energy Recharge comes as priority. I prefer using Energy weapons from early to endgame since weapons are easier to max than echoes. Baizhi uses Rectifier, which has some easily accessible, Healing and Energy options.

The only three-star weapon worth looking at. It comes with an Energy recharge stat and a small energy gain on skill use. However, flat energy regeneration is less helpful with Baizhi whose Resonance Liberation cost is very high.

As a three-star weapon, you may get to S5 so easily. You can max the passive bonus and have it at a higher value than an S1 from the Four Star. However, the Four Star will beat it with a dupe of two (around S3), which will happen eventually. So don’t over-commit your resources here.

Same stats as the Rectifier of Voyager, but with higher values. More Energy Recharge and more Energy gained on using the skill, with the same 20-second cooldown.

The weapon comes from any Gacha pull on any banner. So you may get it at any point in the game. It’s the standard Energy weapon for Baizhi and eases up her rotation by a lot.

Same stats asVariation, but has a different passive, and comes from crafting, rather than Gacha pulls. The passive enables the user to heal herself by5~10%every8seconds if her HP is less than60%. Otherwise, it gives an Attack bonus Baizhi doesn’t benefit from.

The self-healing is useful only in Illusive Realm, as Baizhi plays there on the field all the time. And against the final boss, some healing would help. Otherwise,Variationis a better weapon.

The ideal healing weapon for an HP scaling healer, such as Baizhi. The only downside being it doesn’t come with Energy stats. If you manage to get all Energy Recharge she needs from Echoes alone though,Comet Flarebecomes best in the slot.

This weapon is highly impactful because it’s the only weapon with a Healing bonus. The user gains after using normal or heavy attacks, and stacks3times, for a total of9~15%Healing bonus, depending on refinement level. It lasts for 8 seconds though, so it’s not100%uptime.

The stat that comes with Comet Flare isHP, to higher healing. This compensates for the amount of Energy stats we pick on Baizhi’s Echoes as a result of losing Energy from the weapon.

Similar to Relics fromHonkai Star Rail, and Artifacts fromGenshin Impact, Echoes in Wuthering Waves Baizhi Build works as gear. We have five slots to equip echoes, but the difference is that we are not restricted to using certain echoes in certain slots.

In total, characters have 12 points to distribute among Echoes. Meanwhile, Echoes has three grades, Common (1 cost), Elite (3 cost), and Boss/Overlord (4cost). So the ideal distribution in endgame is (4,3,3,1,1). However, in certain situations, some other setup is possible. Such as getting more Healing Bonus stats from (4,4,1,1,1) setup.

For Baizhi, I prefer standard (4,3,3,1,1)for the importance of Energy Recharge stat on Cost3pieces.

In this Wuthering Waves Sanhua Build we aim to get these DPS main stats:

Baizhi needs a massive Energy Recharge to refund her175cost of Resonance Liberation. So for a fully optimized Echoes setup, we need to fill our Energy Recharge requirements. She might need two Energy Recharge main stats, with some sub-stats. Or get Energy from a Weapon, one Main Stat, then some sub-stats.

After getting comfortable with Energy, build more HP % on Baizhi, to improve her healing.

On top of providing main and sub-stats, each Echo provides a skill that can be used in battle. Only one skill can be acquired this way, and it comes from the top Echo on the Echoes page. Baizhi may use either a healing set, an Energy set, or a hybrid between them. So she has two options for her Echo skill.

Either go withImpermanenance Heronon Energy Set, which gives a damage bonus upon switching. The bonus applies only to the next character if Baizhi uses her Outro skill. This fits her damage bonus from Outro, which also applies to the next character only. Note this skill has two versions, press and hold. We only need to use “Press” in combat while the “Hold” version may only help in exploration in open world.

On the healing set, however, Bell-Borne Geochelone comes in either the Healing set or the Energy set. It’s the standard damage reduction and damage bonus source for the entire team. The damage reduction lasts for three hits taken, and the damage bonus goes away with it. So it’s nice to increase the survivability of the team, with Baizhi lacking supreme healing.

Baizhi really needs her Energy, so unlikeVerina, she may switch to an Energy Set. This is useful when your two other characters in the team don’t use Energy Set. Such as using a sub DPS such as Sanhua with an ice set Since Energy Set gives a 22.5% ATK bonus to the next character upon Outro.

However, if your support uses Energy Set already, or if your sub-dps takes longer field time; Then it’s not very useful for Baizhi to also use the Energy Set. And she should stick to the Healing Set instead, for a team-wide 15% ATK buff, for a longer 30-second duration.

In the early game, if you focus on building your main healer, Verina, then you probably don’t have enough echoes to equip two full healer characters with the best stats. In that case, start with a hybrid 2x Energy set + 2x Healing set. To get the bonus Energy and bonus healing. You would only miss the buff from either set, which is also fine.

Note that Baizhi herself doesn’t benefit from ATK buff from the healing set.

Teams in Wuthering Waves consist of three characters, and to build Baizhi right, we have to pair two suitable companions. Baizhi is a healer and buffs the damage of the next character. So you may build a team from any archetype.

She can take either two DPS characters or one DPS and one support. Both are acceptable.

In the Illusive Realm, you don’t exactly pick a team, but rather two cards with two characters to use their intro. They never get on the field, and only Baizhi stays there. So pick Verina for more healing, and Mortefi for more damage.

Baizhi doesn’t perform outstanding heals, so using a DPS whose HP drops rapidly is unwise. The only example of this in the current version ofWuthering WavesisDanjin, who drains her own HP. Even thoughDanjinheals her own HP, and can rely on dodges to stay alive, she’s still in grave danger without good healing in prolonged fights. Unless you master all enemy movements, dodge every hit, and become untouchable.

Aside fromDanjin, any other DPS may fit here. Baizhi doesn’t force any playstyle on the team so you can just slot her in the last spot for healing and a bit of buffing, and you are settled.

I used her withEncore,Calcharo, andHavoc Roverto decent success in Tower of Adversity. I could use her on lower floors on both sides, to freeVerinafor the harder floors.

If you use a support, which one to pick depends on the main DPS’ archetype. In case of heavy attack DPS, such as Jiyan, you better use Mortefi as his support. If you use Normal Attack DPS such asHavoc Rover, you better useSanhuaas their support. And the list goes on.

For secondary DPS, the most prominent character in version 1.0 is Yinlin. She fits any team and deals damage from off-field. The beauty of using Yinlin with Baizhi is that you may pass Baizhi buff to Yinlin, and not bother with complicating the rotation. You switch from Baizhi to Yinlin normally, and let Yinlin benefit from Baizhi buff. Then switch from Yinlin to main DPS without altering the rotation. This resolves most of Baizhi’s problems of having to switch from her to the main DPS, then to support, and then back to DPS.

As a four-star and guaranteed character, every player has Baizhi, and likely some of her dupes. This allows her to be relatively stronger, and perform well, especially in Illusive Realm. Her fast attack speed, range, and self-heal are her strongest aspects in Illusive Realm.

Besides that, Baizhi will see a power creep from any limited healer that will be released in the future. She will still find a use in third teams, once we can challenge level 100 bosses in the thirdTower of Adversity. However, after several sustain characters are released, whether healers or shielders; Baizhi will find herself out of the meta. So keep in mind that her lifespan in terms of usefulness is not long.
