Wuthering Waves Jinhsi Build Guide
In thisWuthering Waves Jinhsi Build Guide,we’re going to be covering a main DPS build, for Jinhsi. This build focuses on dealing damage and carrying the team. Jinhsi can do all content, whether they are bosses, elites, or smaller enemies in AOE, at range, and mid-air. She is suitable for all endgame modes, Tower of Adversity, Hologram bosses, and Illusionary Realm. Jinhsi has the highest damage output in Wuthering Waves in version1.1
Jinhsi is the third Limited Five Star character, released in the first half of version1.1after Jiyan, andYinlin. She’s a Spectro Broadblade user, that specialize in Ranged attacks, AOE, mid-air, and Resonance skill damage. Unlocking Jinhsi maximum potential requires characters who do coordinated attacks from off-field. So someone such asYinlin,Verina,Baizhi, Mortefi, or Yuanwu. Other characters may work, but Jinhsi suffer notable reduction in damage.
The best part about Jinhsi is how she’s a pure dps character, with every last bit of her kit adding damage. That allow her to carry the team alone, and enable the two other slots to be pure support characters.
Jinhsi do top damage without proper buffers, so her potential will only go up in the future; When Wuthering Waves release dedicated supports for Spectro in general or Jinhsi in particular.
The rotation of Jinhsi is simple to perform, and is typical in all situations. Therefore, Jinhsi is easy character to play, easy to master, and very friendly to beginners. Overall, Jinhsi is one of the best picks to pull, build, and play. And you may build a decent team for her with free characters.
Normal Attacks are four attack combo, with nothing special. Reaching Normal Attack 4 trigger the second phase of Jinhsi Resonance Skill. However, it’s rarely used in rotation, as Intro skill is a sure way to bypass first four normal attacks.
In ideal rotation Jinhsi comes on-field with her second phase ready. And all the following attacks comes from Forte Circuit, rather than Basic Attack. you can ignore leveling Basic Attack.
The Resonance Skill is the core part of Jinhsi kit, and she has four phases of her Resonance Skill. Though, she advances through the phases rapidly, reaching her highest damage rather quickly.
The first phase,“Trailing Lights of Eons”is a simple dash forward that deal low damage (Up to155%of ATK). This skill has mere 3 seconds cooldown, but we rather not use it at all. It deal low damage, and doesn’t advance her to next phases.
The second phase, “Overflowing Radiance” become available after either doing Normal Attack 4, or Intro Skill. with ideal gameplay, you always start Jinhsi rotation with this skill. It scales with Resonance Skill level, and deal moderate damage (Up to197%of ATK). This damage is still not appealing enough to focus on leveling Resonance Skill before her other skills. So I still recommend focusing on Forte Circuit and Resonance Liberation first.
Not only their damage is low, but Resonance Skill First phase doesn’t generate Concerto energy. And second phase only generate4Concerto energy.
In Incarnation mode, Basic Attacks become“Incarnation – Basic Attack”, which scale with Forte Circuit level, and count as Resonance Skill damage in damage formula. These attacks take Jinhsi to mid-air, and allow her to float while performing combos. The third hit also gather enemies.
Casting four“Incarnation – Basic Attack”enable Jinhsi to reach fourth and final stage of Resonance Skill. That’s“Resonance Skill – Illuminous Epiphany”, the ultimate damage source of Jinhsi. This Skill trigger two instances of damage. The first part,Solar Flarescales up to119%of ATK.
The second instance,Stella Glamor, scales up with the amount of charges in Forte bar, and can reach insane numbers. It start with up to347%of ATK, then add another44%for every stack of Forte stacks. These can build up to 50 stacks, so Jinhsi can deal up to2547%of ATK with fully charged“Resonance Skill – Illuminous Epiphany”.
For the cost of 150 energy, Jinhsi casts AOE Liberation with her dragon. This skill deals up to1666%of ATK damage, so it’s considered the highest multiplier for any Resonance Liberation in the game as of version1.1. Even though Jinhsi main source of damage is Resonance Skill, not Resonance Liberation. This simply add more damage to Jinhsi kit, but takes a little while to fully build 150 energy.
Jinhsi Forte bar has 50 charges to build, which is calledIncandescence. The way Jinhsi build these stacks, is through the attacks of other characters. Therefore, it encourage pairing her with characters that do coordinated attacks from off-field. There are several tiers ofIncandescencegain:
So for a team ofJinhsi,Yinlin,Verina, with Jinhsi on field, and both Yinlin and Verina coordinated attacks active:
Every3seconds, Jinhsi gain1stack from herself attacking,2from Yinlin, and2from Verina. So a total of5stacks per3seconds. At this rate, Jinhsi need30seconds of constant attacking and coordinated attacks to fill her Forte, which is very unrealistic. However, there is another gimmick for Jinhsi to fill her charges faster, by using Outro Skill.
Upon using Outro, and for next20seconds, Jinhsi gain stacks every second from the same element. So it now modify to gain stacks this way every3seconds:3stacks from on field character,6stacks from Yinlin, and6stacks from Verina. For a total15stacks every3seconds, which charges full50stacks in10seconds.
This is perfect for Verina whos coordinated attacks lasts12seconds at most after her Resonance Liberation hit a target. Yinlin on other hand lasts18seconds, and can build stacks for Jinhsi for longer. Yuanwu on other hand doesn’t have to get into these calculations, since his Coordinated attacks are infinite. But you can’t gain full benefits from him with Yinlin, because they both have same element.
This unique buff comes after using phase4“Resonance Skill – Illuminous Epiphany”, and has25seconds cooldown.Unisonenables Jinhsi to use Outro before building full Concerto. Or if Jinhsi has full concerto, she can perform outro without consuming the Concerto energy.
And since Outro increase Forte charges gain for20seconds, it’s ideal to use Outro in first rotation, and every rotation. This way, you ensure that casting phase4“Resonance Skill – Illuminous Epiphany”deals maximum damage possible.
Jinhsi Inherent passives are very simple. This one is a straight up Spectro DMG bonus for Jinhsi across the board.
Take it or don’t take it until very endgame, decision is up to you.
Intro and Outro skills need fully charged Concerto energy to cast. They are important to trigger certain Echo Sets bonuses, weapons, and skills. In the case of our Wuthering Waves Jinhsi Build, they are core part of the rotation.
The Intro deal some decent damage, especially withInherent Skill2. However, the damage isn’t ground breaking, so we prioritize every other aspect of Jinhsi skills before Intro.
The utility of Intro is immense though, and totally game-changing. As it skip the four Normal Attacks required to enter second Phase of Resonance Skill. You should always get into Jinhsi at the start of rotation with an Intro. The only exception should come if you Outro from Jinhsi in mid-rotation, then return back to her while she still in her phases.
This Outro deals no damage, it only modify the Forte charges gain rate. It’s very important, as it triple the gain, or in other words, reduce time required to fully charge the the bar to one third.
While explaining Jinhsi kit sounds complicated, playing her on other hand is very straightforward. In this section, I’ll give you step by step chart to her rotation, so you can turn off your brain and let her do her stuff.
Echo skill “Jué” is better used with buffs, before using most of of Jinhsi Resonance Skill casts. Since it buff Resonance Skill damage, and do joint attack.
For this Wuthering Waves Jinhsi Build, gear is a crucial part, and Weapon is a major part of gearing. Jinhsi DPS scales with standard Crit, Attack, and Spectro damage stats, and she’s pure damage dealer.
Jinhsi doesn’t need Energy Recharge, as it would still be hard to use Resonance Liberation every rotation. So we ignore Energy Recharge, and focus on pure damage weapons. Jinhsi is a Broadblade user, and there are huge selection of dps weapons, both limited and free.
Free and generic weapon, you may get from crafting. It’s not particularly great weapon, but as craftable, every player can get their hands on. So if you fail to get anything better, fall back toBroadblade#41.
The weapon comes with huge Energy Recharge sub stat, which is only mildly useful. However, the passive gives an12~24%ATK boost, depending on refinement level. (Up to S5). The condition to trigger the bonus is not hard to maintain, unless you face very aggressive enemies and you don’t avoid damage.
If you managed to pull Helios Cleaver from any banner, it’s an upgrade fromBroadblade#41. It has same base attack (412), but higher30.3%ATK, and the passive grants more ATK buff that builds up from3%,6%,9%12%, then reset.. So it’s average7.5%ATK, for total37.8%ATK.
It require the use of skill every12seconds, while Jinhsi uses skill much more often. So even at S1, it’s better than S5Broadblade#41. Always keep an eye for it to use when you get. Unless you plan on getting a five star weapon instead.
You may get this weapon from either weapon selector at level 45, or standard weapon banner. It’s very good five star, that have great stats, with massive basic attack of (587),36.4%ATK,48.6%Crit Damage, and12.8%Energy Recharge. On top of that, it grants12%damage after using skill.
A very solid choice for any Broadblade user, and an alternative to summoning on Limited weapon banners. And in Tower of Adversity, you may use the weapon on several characters, by switching it between different sides. So both Calcharo and Jinhsi may share the same weapon.
Similar to Relics fromHonkai Star Rail, and Artifacts fromGenshin Impact, Echoes in Wuthering Waves Jinhsi Build works as gear. We have five slots to equip echoes, but the difference is, that we are not restricted to using certain echoes in certain slots.
In total, characters have 12 points to distribute among Echoes. Meanwhile, Echoes has three grades, Common (1 cost), Elite (3 cost), and Overlord/Calamity (4 cost). So the ideal distribution in endgame is (4,3,3,1,1). However, in certain situations, some other setup is possible. Such as getting more Crit stats from the (4,4,1,1,1) setup. Spectro Set has two bosses with 4 costs, so (4,4,1,1,1) is possible.Especially if you useVerdant Summit weapon, because it gives so much Crit Damage, leaving Crit rate at very low ratio. Using two Echoes with Crit rate main stat is a good compensation.
In this Wuthering Waves Jinhsi Build we aim to get these DPS main stats:
Jinhsi find a hard time using Resonance Liberation every single rotation, and even with Energy Recharge stats, it’s not enough. So we ignore Energy recharge, use Liberation every two turns, and focus on offensive stats only.
Crit rate is the best option, to come as close to1:2Ratio as possible, between Crit rate and Crit damage. Use Crit damage main stat only if you get Jinhsi signature weapon, Ages of Harvest, and have high sub stats of Crit rate.
For sub stats, get Crit, ATK, and Resonance Skill DMG. Resonance Liberation DMG is also decent but comes as much lower priority.
Jué should be the echo skill to go for. Not only it has lore and story ties with Jinhsi, but also synergize with her kit. Upon using Jué, Jinhsi gain Resonance skill damage bonus for15seconds, It also deal a DoT Spectro damage for same duration. And on top of that, it has frontloaded Spectro damage in AOE, upon casting Echo skill.
Overall, there are too many benefits from Jué to look anywhere else. You can also farm Jué much easier than any other boss. Due to being instanced, you can keep going in its domain, pick lowest difficulty, kill it, and repeat.
For Jinhsi, Spectro set is the only good options. Not only it give highest damage, but has the most suitable Echo Skill for her. Spectro set gives 40% damage bonus, and require intro skill to trigger. And even with inconsistent Intro usage, it’s still better than any alternative.
Teams inWuthering Wavesconsist of three characters, and to buildJinhsiright, we have to pair her with two suitable companions.Jinhsiis a main-dps who have very high numbers, But rely on supports that deal coordinated attacks. So, we focus on getting supports to fill this criteria.
Verinagives team wide Damage and ATK buff, but her Coordinated attacks lasts only 12 seconds , and it ties to her Resonance Liberation. Meanwhile, she has very large energy cost. So you need good awareness and be smart about timing. But even if you mess up rotation, she still a solid option.
Baizhiis harder to use, has less hit count with her coordinated attacks, and her buff is single target only. She’s not recommended option, if you have access to Verina. But she’s a clutch if you lack any other option.
Yuanwuoffer no buffs, no damage, but has infinite coordinated attacks. This enable him to battery Jinhsi all the time with minimum effort. At S4 he give the team a shield equal to200%of his Def on Liberation use. That’s a decent shield that can take few hits before breaking.
The difference between Jinhsi damage with coordinated attacks and without coordinated attacks is huge. So it comes as top priority, even higher than damage buffers. That’s why using characters such asYinlin,Mortefi, orYuanwu(if he’s not used as sustain) is a great option.
Yinlinusually offer the highest damage to the team, through her own high dps, and partially buffing Jinhsi Resonance Liberation damage. However, Yinlin is another limited character, who was on banner prior to Jinhsi. And for a lot of people, they wouldn’t have both Yinlin and Jinhsi on same account.
That’s where four starMorteficomes as good hybrid support behind Yinlin. His Heavy Attack buff is irrelevant, but he has good coordinated attacks from off-field. His performance improve a lot with Sequences, so keep an eye on him when he comes as rate-up character.
Finally,Yuanwucould be used as sub-dps, rather than a sustain. And works great with his infinite coordinated attacks.
Jinhsiis a limited character, so you can’t get her without willingly wishing for her. This puts players to decide which limited character is more valuable to them than others. In the case ofJinhsi, she’s a top dps character, that works with both free teams, and limited five star teams. So the decision depends on what characters you already have in your account.
If your account is overwhelmed with top dps characters, and lacks support characters, then Jinhsi is less appealing. However, if your account have enough support characters, or balanced between dps and support, then Jinhsi is a perfect pick.
It’s worth mentioning that Jinhsi has access to great free weapons, both four and five stars. So building her is easier than a lot of other characters. And playing Jinhsi is also very easy, especially with mid-air attacks that counter several bosses.
