The cross-platform title Wutcher Waves has released new cinematics for the upcoming online RPG. The opening scenes show the main character interacting with a floating ethereal-looking being before being thrust into a world upside down. The video shows both the male and female character choices which looks similar to other gacha games such asGenshin ImpactandHonkai Star Rail. The scenes are identical but set up the mystery of who is the floating lady and where we’ll end up.
Wuthering Waves is about to embark on its nextclosed betatest onFebruary 19th. The first one took place in April last year. This one will have some major changes compared to the last, most notably having a huge story revision. So if you have played the first beta, things might not appear the same as your first experience. Developer Kuro Game has shaken up the narrative, taking out what didn’t work or was deemed “unsatisfactory” and made changes to story flow, animations as well as voiceovers.
Combat has also had a shake-up. Adjustments have been made to skill effects, combat mechanics, screen shaking as well as camera lock-on. Echo skills have also gained some alterations gaining smoother performances.
Players will also get to experience further characters, three Resonators Jianxin, Lingyang and Calcharo. New challenges await with three new bosses, Impermanence Heron, Mech Abomination, and Tempest Mephis, plus a new phase for Scar.
For those wanting further challenges new high-difficulty elites and the game mode called “Tactical Hologram: Calamity” will add that extra spice to combat. For further Wuthering World immersion, players will get to experience the Etheric Sea, Celestial Anomaly, and Retroact Rain. Along with new content, graphics and in-game visuals have been further polished.
In case you missed it, Wuthering Waves is an upcoming online Action-RPG which stands to rival titles such as Genshin Impact. The hybrid mobile/PC game aims to set itself apart with it’s Echo System. It allows you to absorb the enemy’s powers and use them to your own advantage. Players can collect Resonance power from monsters through the Wutrelic System and attract more monsters in turn. Its Pokemon-esque bestiary does sound intriguing.
It also features a unique Concerto Effect, when characters set off a series of abilities the Concerto Energy will charge up. Once the bar is full, players can switch mid-combo to another character. This should make the gameplay fluid, intense and fast-paced.
Taking place in a post-apocalyptic world, which was left devasted by a strange event called the Calament. Playing as a Rover, a being who awakens with little memory of their past in a new world. You end up joining forces with the Resonators, humans who have the capability to fight back the monsters that popped up after the Calament.
