Xenoblade Chronicles X to have 4 player Co-op and other online features
Big news has been coming from developer Monolith Soft in recent weeks in regards to their follow up to cult JRPG hit, Xenoblade Chronicles, Xenoblade Chronicles X. In a recent livestream it was revealed Xenoblade Chronicles X will have online co-op of up to four players as well as players having the ability to ”passively connect” to up to 32 other players with the players being able to exchange information or items between themselves. Little has been revealed besides this information in regards to the online play. It is however a large change from Xenoblade Chronicles single-player only offerings. It can be speculated however that the 32 players will only be able to connect in the hub of New Los Angeles similar in vein to titles such as Destiny and Guild Wars.
Xenoblade Chronicles X is set to release on April 29th in Japan on the Wii U. A release date for North America or Europe has yet to been confirmed. The game will display at 720p and will have Miiverse support (naturally.) In addition to this, the game will support the Wii U gamepad, pro controller and any usb keyboard. As the release date for Japan draws closer, more details should hopefully emerge in the coming months, especially in regards to the release date for the title outside of Japan. Fextralife will keep you up to date with any developments if and when they occur.
