Zenless Zone Zero Koleda Build Guide

Zenless Zone Zero Koleda Build Guide

In thisZenless Zone ZeroKoleda Build Guide, we’re going to cover aFire Stun Koleda build.Koledais versatile and can play as either a hybrid or a pure stun build. She has good synergy with many characters and even has special interactions with some characters from theBelobog Heavy Industriesfaction, such asBen.Koledais very useful against bosses, whether in endgame modes, such asShiyu DefenseandHollow Zero, or in Hard mode in the story.

Koledais a standard banner, five-star character that you get from either the beginners banner, character selector at 200 wishes, or from losing your50:50chance on rate-up banners likeEllen’s. She’s a MeleeFirecharacter withStunfighting style, who belongs to theBelobog Heavy Industriesfaction.

She can play as a quick swap character or stay on the field to fully stun enemies and then trigger chain attacks.Koledabuffs the chain damage of the entire team by a huge amount. So stunning enemies with her is very useful, not only for the crowd control but also for team damage.

Koledais among the best stun characters inZenless Zone Zero, and herfireelement enables interesting teams, such as pairing withLucy, who’s also afireelement support character. Otherwise, she can emphasizeStunand play doubleStunteams withBen. Or she can be slotted as astuncharacter in any team that lacks this role. So she’s widely flexible.

On top of that,Koledadeals good damage if she stays on the field. So while stunning enemies, the team doesn’t suffer a huge DPS loss from switching out the main damage dealer. After stunning enemies,Koledaenhances the chain attack of the entire team by a 1.35x multiplier.

She has good resistance to interruption, and with good combos, she becomes invulnerable often enough. So she excels against bosses to stun them rapidly. And with herDodge Counter, she can tank anything the boss throws at the team.

InZenless Zone Zero, combat unfolds in a similar fashion to fighting games, andKoledais no exception. You can dodge, perfect dodge, parry through character switches, perform special attacks, and extra special attacks. That’s on top of normal attacks andUltimate, and you weave these together across three characters to beat enemies.

The majority of skills leveling in aKoledabuild affects only the numerical values of damage andDazemultiplier. All active skills are available from level 1 onward, and their function doesn’t change with levels. So the skill leveling priority depends on either DPS output orDazemultiplier. As aStuncharacter,Koledafocuses onDazemore than damage.

Koleda has three types of basic attacks:

So her basic attacks are a core part of her kit, and she uses them often if she’s on the field so don’t ignore leveling this skill up.

Koledagains“Furnace Fire”from usingAssist Follow Upor usingEX Special Attack. It enables two enchanted normal attacks afterward. HerCore Skillgives even moreDazeupon consuming“Furnace Fire”to use enchanted normal attacks.

So if your main DPS isn’t locked to stay on-field (doesn’t suffer a penalty from switching), then usingKoleda‘sAssistis highly recommended.Koledamay actually turn the entire team playstyle into a quick swap for this reason. Here’s a simple combo for this style:

If the enemy is stunned or doesn’t have attacks that triggerAssist, you may need to rely onEX Special Attackto trigger enchanted attacks:

IfKoledaandBenare both in the team, they perform a joint coordinated attack on the second normal attack, which deals high damage and highDaze.

Special Attacktriggers a simple fire strike. Using it after the 2nd or 4th normal attack will trigger an explosion instead, with a faster cast speed. The explosion deals more damage and inflicts moreDaze. So aim to always useSpecial Attacksafter the 2nd or 4th hit.

It’s tricky to know exactly when to useSpecial AttacksinceKoleda‘s normal attack combos consist of multiple hits. The first normal attack has two hits, so the confusion starts right from the beginning. One piece of advice I can give in this guide to help you timeKoleda‘sSpecial Attackis to use the “Free Training” mode. Open the mode, disable enemy movement in the settings, and practice the combos.

Do anormal attackand stop, then notice the animation. Next, do twonormal attacksand observe the animation. Now you’ll know when the secondnormal attackends, which is the right time to useSpecial Attack. Repeat this process, but aim for the fourth hit, and then train to useSpecial Attackafterward.

Avoiding button-mashing is a great way to make any combo easier. Being conscious of what buttons you press and how many times you press them helps you time it in your head, even if you don’t notice every animation.

Going for the fourth attack is easier, asKoledagoes up in the air and plunges down, making it very noticeable.

If Koleda has 60 energy, then her Special turns into EX Special. This skill is important for several reasons, it has very high Daze (from base multiplier + Core skill). It also deals very good damage.

Koledauses herEX Specialin a similar fashion to herSpecial Attack, so use it after the 2nd or 4th hit, then follow up withEX Special. Make sure not to switch out immediately afterEX Special. Instead, use two enchanted normal attacks afterward.

Koledawill not charge her energy fast enough, so the use ofEX Specialcan be somewhat scarce. Even with anEnergy Rechargetwo-piece set, 60 energy takes some time to recharge while on the field.

Normal dodge followed by a normal attack will trigger“Dash Attack: Tremble!”. We usually don’t use this, as it deals low physical damage and lowDaze. It doesn’t have any unique functions tied to other skills.

On the other hand, perfect dodgeactivates“Dodge Counter: Don’t Look Down on Me”, which delivers higher damage andDaze. TheCounteranimation features a long spinning attack that hits the enemy multiple times and makesKoledainvulnerable, making it an excellent way to absorb enemy attacks and bypass their dangerous combos.

Ideally, when facing a boss with a combo attack, switch toKoledawithAssistto enable her to parry. Then, use a dodge followed byDodge Counterto handle the rest of the boss’s combo. This approach will inflict a significant amount ofDazein a short time, bringing the enemy much closer to being stunned.

You can chain perfect dodge and counter two times, to further increase Daze, and extend invulnerability. So an overall good skill to use and level at this Koleda build.

Melee characters likeKoledahaveDefensive Assistinstead ofEvasive Assist. This means you switch toKoledaat the right moment while the enemy is attacking, allowing her to parry the hit. This action staggers the enemy briefly, givingKoledathe opportunity to unleash“Assist Follow-Up: Overtaking Maneuver.”

BetweenAssistandFollow-Up Assist,Koledacan inflict over 1000%Daze. If you follow up withDodge Counter, you’ll add an extra 500%. This means that even in quick swap teams,Koledacan still contribute to stunning enemies with minimal field time.

Switching withAssistalso grantsKoleda“Furnace Fire”, which she can later consume to useEnchanted Normal Attack.

Chain Attacksare a unique type of attack where the game zooms in and pauses, allowing the player a special switch. To trigger aChain, you need to hit a stunned enemy with a heavy attack. Boss enemies trigger 3Chains, elite enemies trigger 2Chains, and normal enemies trigger 1Chain. Additionally, yourBangboocan join theChainwithout consuming the chain count, giving you an extra free switch.

AmongZenless Zone Zerocharacters,Koledahas moderate damage. However, she boosts theChain Attackdamage for the entire team with a 1.35x multiplier.

This buff enhances the team’s overall damage, particularly becauseKoledaconsistently stuns enemies. The effect is even greater if the team includes severalstuncharacters, such asKoledaandBen.

When theDecibel Ratingreaches its maximum (3000), press the Ultimate key to activateHammerquake.Ultimateabilities are mutually exclusive between characters, meaning usingKoleda‘sUltimateprevents you from using any other character’sUltimate. The question then becomes: how important isKoleda‘sUltimatecompared to those of other characters in her team?

Koleda‘sUltimatehas a lower damage multiplier, with onlyGraceandAnbyhaving lower multipliers. Additionally,Koledadoesn’t build a lot ofCritor damage stats, focusing instead on herImpactstat, which affects her stun power. Therefore, in terms of pure DPS,Koledais not the top choice for using anUltimate.

However,Koleda‘sUltimatehas a significantDazemultiplier, combined with herImpactstats, meaning she can apply a lot of stun with herUltimate. This makes it a worthwhile trade, especially if the enemy is dangerous and has a large stun meter.

Stunning enemies trigger moreChain Attacks, which benefit fromKoleda‘s passive damage buff, leading to an indirect increase in overall damage. Thus, the decision to useKoleda‘sUltimateis situational and depends on the circumstances.

Koleda‘sUltimatedoes not have a very long animation. For higher invulnerability frames, consider other characters likePiper. For pure damage, look at DPS characters likeSoldier 11. If your goal is to stun, thenKoledais your choice.

WhenBenis in the team,Koleda‘sUltimatehas a slightly higher multiplier and a different animation, but theDazemultiplier remains the same.

WhenKoledauses herEX Special Attackor consumesFurnace Fireto perform an enhancedBasic Attack, theDazeshe inflicts increases by 30-60%, depending on the level of herCore Skill.

This bonus is multiplicative with theDazemultiplier, soKoledadeals significantly higher stun with herEX SpecialandEnhanced Basic Attack.

WithMindscapes,Koledagains additional abilities and improvements to her core skill. However, as a five-star character, it takes longer to obtain duplicates for herMindscapes. Therefore, we do not rely on them in thisZenless Zone Zero Koleda Build Guide.

This is a team passive bonus that depends on team composition. IfKoleda’s team includes a second character with the same element (Fire) or faction (Belobog Heavy Industries), she gains the bonus. There are several characters that fit both criteria, soKoleda‘s passive is relatively easy to activate.

The passive provides a team-wide buff that increasesChain Attackdamage by 35% after using herEX Special Attack. This buff can stack up to two times and resets when the enemy recovers from stun. While it can be challenging to achieve two stacks before the next stun ends, it’s a valuable boost when it does happen.

For thisZenless Zone Zero Koleda Build, gear plays a crucial role, andW-Enginesare a key component.Koleda‘s DPS scales with various factors, including ATK,Crit,Pen, andFire Damagestats. However, herStunprimarily scales with theImpactstat, which takes priority along withEnergy Regen.

Koleda uses a stun weapon, and these have some interesting choices.

The only B Rank weapon with anImpactsub-stat, its passive also provides unconditionalImpacton the main target. At max refinement and level, it totals 24%Impact.

This bonus is decent for a free weapon accessible to everyone, but it is inferior to A Rank weapons. Be sure to upgrade to better options when you have the chance.

Compared to the[Vortex] Arrow, this weapon has higher base ATK andImpact. It features a 15%Impactsub-stat and an additionalImpactmodifier from its passive. If the enemy is above 75% HP, it inflicts 20-32% moreDaze, depending on the refinement tier. If the enemy is between 50% and 75% HP, it inflicts 10-16% moreDaze. There is no bonus if the enemy’s HP is below 50%.

To simplify, these values average out to 7.5-12% moreDaze, depending on refinement. However, since these values are multiplicative bonuses, they multiply with otherImpactandDazenumbers rather than simply adding to them. This makes the bonus very effective, especially on top of the 15% from the sub-stats.

Overall, it’s a strong weapon, particularly for bursting down enemies quickly. If you have burst characters that deal increased damage to stunned enemies, this weapon onKoledais a valuable support tool.

Another A Rank weapon that’s relatively easy to acquire and somewhat effective inKoleda‘s hands. It provides a 50%Energy Regensub-stat and anImpactpassive that increases asKoledabuilds energy.

With anEnergycost of 60, theImpactmodifier builds up in six stacks as follows: 2%, 4%, 6%, 8%, 10%, and 12%. On average, this is around 7%, and even at max refinement, the stacks are 3.2%, 6.4%, 9.6%, 12.8%, 16%, and 19.2%, averaging 11.2%. OnceKoledauses herEX Special, the buff remains at the latest value (12% to 19.2%) for 8 seconds.

ThisImpactbonus is lower than that of some B Rank weapons. The main advantage of this weapon is itsEnergy Recharge, which is valuable if you can build your setup to useEX Specialevery rotation.

This A Rank weapon is designed forAnbyand increasesElectric Damage. However, it also includes a 15%Impactsub-stat and boostsEnergy Regenwhen performing aDodge CounterorAssist Attack.

TheEnergy Regenis quite significant, ranging from 18% at minimum to 27.5% at max refinement. This effect lasts for 8 seconds and can be refreshed anytime withAssistorDodge Counter.Koledais an ideal user for this weapon since she frequently performsDodge Countersand usesAssistattacks regularly.

I don’t recommend pursuing S Rank weapons for stun characters, as the improvements are minimal.

Similar toRelicsfromHonkai Star Rail,ArtifactsfromGenshin Impact, andEchoesfromWuthering Waves,Drive DisksinZenless Zone Zerofunction as gear. There are six slots available for equippingDrive Disks, and each slot is restricted to certain types ofDisks.

Drive Diskscome in sets, with each set providing bonuses for 2-piece and 4-piece configurations. Ideally, you should use a full 4-piece set along with a 2-piece set for the best setup. However, while leveling and before you have enough good pieces from a single set, a hybrid 2-2-2 setup can be used as a temporary solution.

In thisZenless Zone Zero Koleda Build, the first three slots I, II, and III have all fixed main stats. These are Flat HP, Flat ATK, and Flat DEF respectively. On other slots, we aim to get these main stats:

The only slot where you can obtainImpactforKoledais the 6th slot, so prioritize it there while focusing on DPS stats for the other slots.Crit Rateis more important thanCrit DMGbecauseKoledadoes not have any inherent source ofCrit Ratein her kit. The default values tend to favorCrit DMG(5%Crit Rateversus 50%Crit DMG).

For sub-stats, prioritizeCrit, %ATK,Anomaly Proficiency, andPEN Ratio. In aFireteam,Koledawill likely trigger someBurn, so increasing herAnomaly Damageis more beneficial than other less effective stats likeDefandHP.

TheImpact Set(Shockstar Disco) is highly desirable forKoleda. It provides an 8%Impactbonus for the 2-piece set and adds 20% moreDazetoBasic Attacks,Dash Attacks, andDodge Counters. This bonus acts as a multiplier rather than an additive increase to otherDazeandImpactmodifiers, multiplyingKoleda‘s finalDazeby 1.2x.

As a source of stuns, theImpact Set(Shockstar Disco) is a significant boost toKoleda‘s kit and effectiveness, making the 4-piece set valuable even with less ideal sub-stats.

However, if you’re playingKoledain a monoFireteam, another option is theFire Set(Inferno Metal). This set grants a substantialCrit Rateincrease against enemies withBurn. With threeFirecharacters and aFireBangboo, burns will occur frequently, making this bonus nearly permanent even without anAnomalybuild.

For a 2-piece setup, it’s recommended to use two pieces from theEnergy Set(Swing Jazz). If you don’t have energy pieces, you can alternatively use either two pieces from theCrit Set(Woodpecker Electro) or two pieces from theFire Set(Inferno Metal).

Teams inZenless Zone Zeroconsist of three characters, and to buildKoledaeffectively, she needs to be paired with two suitable companions.Koledacan either be a pure stun character or a hybrid sub-DPS, and she always relies onStunto deal damage.

She is responsible for triggeringStun, which enables buffedChain Attacksand substantial damage. For example, characters likeCorin, who deal significant damage only to stunned enemies, synergize well withKoleda.

When selecting a team forKoleda, consider theAdditional Ability Passive, which activates when paired with either aFirecompanion or someone from theBelobog Heavy Industriesfaction. Additionally, theBangbooyou choose may require a specific team composition, such as including twoFirecharacters.

This team focuses more on building two primaryAnomalystatuses,AssaultandShock, rather than onKoleda‘s individual performance.Koleda‘s ownBurnis added to the mix to occasionally trigger an extraDisorder.

In this setup,Koledaspends little time on the field, unless you’re facing a dangerous boss that needs to be stunned quickly. This is not a standardKoledateam. Keep in mind thatGraceactivatesKoleda‘s passive, enabling effectiveChain Attackswhen enemies are stunned.

For this team, use eitherPlugboo(ElectricBangboo) orButler(EnergyBangboo).

This team is incredibly powerful, allowing everyone to use theFire Setby consistently inflictingBurn.Soldier 11is a very strongDPScharacter with limited support options, so pairingLucyandKoledais a natural fit.

Lucyprovides off-fieldDPSand a powerful flat attack buff.Koledacontributes withChain Damagebonuses, her stuns, and additionalDPS.Soldier 11is an all-outDPScharacter.

The bestBangbooto use in this setup is typically theFireone (Rocketboo).

This is an unconventionalAnomalyteam focused on triggeringDisorderwith non-AnomalyFirecharacters. The goal is to activateAssaultas quickly as possible, usingPiperas the sole physical character. The accumulation ofFireAnomalybuildup from twoFirecharacters and aFireBangbooshould triggerDisordereffectively.

Koleda, as a stun character, helpsPiperspin safely without taking damage if the enemy is stunned.Lucyis a natural fit for this team, as she activates bothPiper’spassive (same faction) andKoleda’spassive (same element).

The bestBangbooto use here is typically theFireone (Rocketboo), which assists withFireAnomalybuildup.

Benis anotherStuncharacter with the same element and faction asKoleda. They have excellent synergy, which alters the behavior of some ofKoleda‘s skills, including herUltimateandCoordinated Attack.

The idea behind pairingKoledaandBenis to inflict a high amount ofDazeconsistently on the enemy, leading to frequent stuns. This will trigger moreChain Attacksand, more importantly, enable certain characters to deal increased damage. Currently,Corinis one such character, butKoledais not the ideal partner for her.Corinbelongs to theVictoria Housekeeping Co.faction and has aPhysicalelement, soKoledaandBendo not activate her passive.

However, if you don’t haveLycaonand still want to playCorin, thenKoledacan fill the gap.

The bestBangbooto use in this setup is typically theFireone (Rocketboo).

Koledais a highly flexible character who can fit into any team as the third slot. Adding a stun character likeKoledamakes many content easier, even if it slightly reducesDPS. Some of the more challenging content prioritizes survivability over damage.

Whether you getKoledaor not depends on RNG, so not everyone has access to her.

To maximizeKoleda’seffectiveness, you need to enable her passive, so she performs best in a team with anotherFirecharacter or someone fromBelobog Heavy Industries. Fortunately, there are plenty of such characters available. Use this to your advantage when building teams. In the endgame modeShiyu Defense, you’ll need two teams, soKoledawill be a valuable asset in one of them.
